We are paying for everything ourselves. My mom insisted on paying for my attire, no argument here.

Its a good feeling, we didnt have to listen to anyone and were in charge of everything on our own.

I have had friends whos family paid for the reception and the bride and groom had to pay for flowers, dj etc and they had the nerve to complain.

JMO, people need to grow up....

For the most part, we are paying for the wedding, but each set of parents has agreed to 'help' with something...

We are definitely paying for everything....we are not excepting any $$$ until after the wedding...we want this to be just from us....it feels better because we can also choose whatever we want without feeling guilty of spending our parents $$

I wish i could do it myself, but we're just not in that monetary place right now. We did however tell my dad we would pay him back after the wedding. (he won't take it, but ill at least make the effort so he can't complain)

FI and I are paying for a good percentage. My parents are paying for my dress and all my bridal needs. his mom is paying for RH and she is giving us some money towards the wedding.

My grandmother just recently passed away and my dad is in the middle of selling her condo and will be getting some money from that. he has to split it with his brother, but his share he said he is going to give me half and for my to consider it a gift fromy my grandparents.

My parents each of their five children $10,000 towards the wedding, plus either the shower or the rehersal dinner. My FIL gave us nothing. We are paying the rest.

We are paying for the DJ, Video, photo, officiant limo, gifts and all the extras. My parents are paying for the reception which is cheaper in the end. But it still helps out. My mom had said the other day she would pay for flowers which was like a huge relief.

We are paying for everything except the rehearsal dinner & my mother bought my dress. Besides that the main wedding expenses are all ours.

And I thought we were the only ones! All of my friends are having/had very expensive weddings that their parents paid for - and I mean they didn't even pay for their BP gifts. I'm sure if my mom could have afforded it, this would be the way she would have wanted it too (she's a widow).

That being said, she's paying for 1/2 of our reception and my dress/shoes/veil etc, my brother is paying for the florist, and my FILs are paying for the limos and rehersal dinner. Plus both our parents threw us an engagement party.

All in all, we can well afford it but it is a bit daunting as we are buying a house next month as well! I am counting on those sales bonuses to get me through the year!

We are paying for a big chunk of the wedding. My parents are helping us out. His mother is paying for most of the rehearsal dinner (my fh and will have to kick in an extra $1000 for the rehearsal dinner). My FH's father is not giving us anything towards the wedding.
We have been saving for a wedding for quite some time though so we don't feel as stressed out about the money situation.

My parents are paying for most of the reception, we are paying for the rest, with a small donation from FILs. Now that I have learned not to total how much I owe, I am much calmer I just treat every bill seperately, and save every month. That is why we had a 2 year engagement. FH still talks about how we can have a down payment on a house for what we are spending on this wedding!

My parents will help as much as they can. So far I haven't asked for much, I figured I'd wait until all the CASH is owed! FH's parents have been halping with half of payments so far.

We are paying for it ourselves. My mom and dad are divorced and there are four kids. My dad told us when we each get married we will get an xxx amount of money that we could either buy a ladder with or make a wedding. My mom is not as well off but is still giving us a very nice 'gift'.

All in all the amount of $$$ will pay for our honeymoon and a little extra
