How many of you actually know what you are doing when you go to a gym?
Do any of you have personal trainers?

Re: How many of you have trainers?
if i was advertising i would have stated who i was or who i work with, etc, hehe.
it was just a simple question to have people post who they work with and if they have any reviews on them, etc.

If you can share which trainer you have and at what gym, I think people who are looking to meet their goals by using a trainer would benefit from this so they can look them up.

Re: How many of you have trainers?
I know what I'm doing because I had a trainer for a boyfriend 8 years ago.
Now I just read about it on a regular basis to stay up to date.
I highly reccomend getting a trainer, however, the majority of them have no clue what they are talking about or even know when they are training you incorrectly. I have seen some trainers just waisting their clients time with how they train them.

How long did you work with your trainer to achieve your bridal goal?

Re: How many of you have trainers?
most of the trainers I hired would just count my reps!!!
I got tired of paying someone to count for me - I used to be a fitness instructor, so I know what I'm doing - my FH is very fit, so we train together,a nd I go to a kickboxing class several times a week - I just havent met any trainers who really could kick my a$$

Re: How many of you have trainers?
I joined Bally's Sports Club and they are charging like 2500 for 16 1hr sessions. I think that is too much money. I wish I had a trainer.

Re: How many of you have trainers?
and NYSC trainers are a LOT better than Bally's trainers - trust me - I worked for them both - and there was no comparison - NYSC trainers have a lot more certifications they need to fulfill other than the standard ones (ACE, AFAA, etc)

Re: How many of you have trainers?
I've worked with trainers and also could sit here and tell horror stories all day... I've tried 2 men (one at Bally's who almost killed me (I mean you aren't supposed to pass out on the machine right? he was a military guy who pushed a little too hard) one other guy at a local gym in Hauppauge) and a woman trainer at Golds in Smithtown. The woman was the best of the 3. I've never tried any of them at Synergy in F. Square where I work out now, nor would I ever.
However, I'm now studying for the ACE test and looking to become a trainer. I'm hoping the bad experiences I've had will make me a better trainer. I'm a gymnastics coach so I'm hoping that will prepare me well to train people as well.
