Before you booked your RH? I've been to 3 and I've chosen my favorite one. I love it because its an old building overlooking the water. The place has lots of character, a big staircase, and 2 fireplaces, old architecture etc. Feels like a big family dinner sort of thing. (Not having many guests - approx 110) The only issue is this. Since it's in the winter, the ceremony will be in the same room as cocktail and dancing. Although I did notice that alot of places have that issue. It's not really bothering me that much I just wonder how fast they can tranistion the room right after the ceremony (They'll be changing during the recieving line). The price was incredible, and they will even throw in a free vieneese table if we book by Jan. 1
The second choice I like. I'm not in love with it, but its nice and there would be more room for things to go on. Ceremony, then they go to a cocktail room, then the reception area. The only thing is they are doing renovations this winter and I don't know what to expect. The plans sound lovely but who knows.
The third place I disliked, and the next place I want to go I found out is closing.
Oh and one more thing I like about the first place is you could have it at any time. The second place was either 12p-5p or 7p-12 for a sat.

Re: How many places did you look at?
we looked at about 5 but I always knew I wanted to get married at the Milleridge Cottage so it really wasn't a hard choice for us..........What are the three places you looked at? First choice?

Re: How many places did you look at?
Westbury Manor was the first and only place we went to.
We had gone to a wedding there before and thought the food was amazing.
As soon as we went for a meeting there and saw the gardens we knew we wanted to get married there especially after they told us all we were getting for the price.
Our BM said we should go see other places just to be sure and FH agreed but I said no way!!!!

Re: How many places did you look at?
Are you dead set on getting married at the RH there are always other places if you do not want to get married at a church.
Oh and the third one was sunset harbour, which i didn't care for. It was just very plain, everything was white. And it was super fancy, a little too fancy for my taste...

My first choice is the West Sayville Country Club The second choice is Brentwood Country Club
We are not getting married in a church because neither of us attend church. Plus its easier to do it there....
Never been to any of the ones you went to but my friend almost got married at the BCC and she said it is beautiful.
Me and FH are getting married in a church and both of us do not go - we are not having a mass. FH is not even catholic. Just an option if you need one.

Re: How many places did you look at?
we looked at about 8 places i would say. the one we booked was the 3rd one we looked at. we realized we were most excited when we were there and of course it helped that we were getting the most for the money.

Re: How many places did you look at?
So far we have looked at 12 places, but because of locations, prices, and guarantees we still have not found a place. We got engaged in April, so been looking for a few months now.

As soon as we saw the woodlands we knew that was the place we wanted. We went to one other place after but immediately realized we didn't even need to keep looking and booked the Woodlands.

Re: How many places did you look at?
i would say about 12 or so, some were really easy to cross off. when it came to the decision we were really between 2...the way we decided was we went back to our #1 choice and kept trying to negotiate a better price...we ended up with our #2 choice.

I think I looked at 6. But knew from the start that my 1st visit was my top choice.
