The trip FH and i LOVE comes to about $8000+ ... We don't have that kind of money ... but it's a once in a lifetime thing so maybe it's ok ...
What do you think - should we calm down a bit and choose something more affordable, or let the credit card companies be happy with our debt?

FFIL said that he would pay for it!!!! as our wedding present but never gave us a price range I dont know if we sould ask him how much or just start looking and tell him what the average price is??

I think we LOVE the idea we have but are very nervous to spend $8k on it ... we don't have $8k even without the wedding plans :)
it's difficult for us to find a cheaper place because we're getting married in August which, as you guys know is hurricane season in most places. The non-hurricane places just don't do it for us. Haha, i guess that's what we get for being picky
(oh and i'm not saying where we're looking to book yet ... don't wanna jinx myself)

for hotels/flights we are spending 5,500 but then with excursions and food/drinks etc we will probably spend another 2-3k

we spent about $8K on 11 days in Italy. $8K included all hotels, flights, dining and excursions. Used tripadvisor and i can't belive how nice the HM was.

we spent 2600 for 10 days all inclusive mexico playa mujeres swim up suite= amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i booked at a price of 4800 and stalked the website everyday , when i saw a special i called my travel agent and was able to get 50% OFF!!!!!! i also stalked jetblue website and when my ticket prices came down i was credited over 200 on my account and was able to use that credit for bag fees, future flights etc. if you do not have the money do not go into debt when you can have a fabulous amazing time for a quater of the price!

I never added up how much our HM cost, but I know it was about $1500 for our flights, plus another $2k for our hotels / B&Bs for 10 days in France. Plus there was 4 days of a rental car in the south of France, and we did tons of other stuff on our HM. I think in total it cost us somewhere between $6k and $8k. We did get $2000 from our HM registry, though, which helped a lot, especially for all the CC charges from meals and stuff all over France.
It was really the trip of a lifetime and we went all out! I would never spend that much on hotels on a 'normal' trip, but we really wanted to go fancy for our HM. It was totally worth it.

7 days in St. Lucia and 4 days in Antigua, all inclusive with flights.... a little over 6K.

ours is 6k and its 2 weeks. 1 week at an all inclusive (includes food AND alcohol) and the second week is a cruise so we just need money for drinks and excursions if we do any

Ours is about 6k for 10 days at an all inclusive Sandals resort in St. Lucia (including airfare)

It's up to you. My cousin just spent over 10k on her dream honey moon and loved every minute of it. FH and I dont want to spend that much. Id rather save for our house.. Do what you want... it really is once in a life time- but I think where ever you go you can make it amazingggggg

between $5-6,000 8 nights in Aruba at the Tradewinds Clubs of the Marriott Stellaris Resort & Casino (similar to a concierge floor).
The hotel is $3,400 and includes * access/hotel room located on the exclusive 8th floor * 5 daily food options in the Club Lounge on the 8th floor ~ buffet breakfast, buffet lunch, high tea, discovery hour (similar to dinner), open bar 6-9pm. Also you get free soft drinks and apparently beer throughout the day. * private beach front lounge / private beach area * kite boarding lessons * typical concierge services (nightly turndown, priority sitting at all hotel restaurants, packing/unpacking, and private check-in/out, etc)
Super excited, for dinner, excursions, and other expenses we are giving ourselves around 2,500

total approximately $15k - it's a once in a lifetime event, we won't be able to do-over and we'll be celebrating our 10 year anniversary together as a couple so that's a great achievement and our honeymoon at the same time...so i think it's worth it...although we will be in the poor house afterwards...
