How much are you willing to spend on your wedding..?

Hi Ladies,

I've been cranking numbers all evening. I've lost all sense of reality. At this point, my budget has doubled what I originally started with. I wanted to have a nice small wedding and still be fairly inexpensive. I started with 20K total (everything included) for a guest list of 80. Now its doubled. What do I do...? I know its the most important day of our lives and I really want it to be special, but at the same time I don't want to be in debt after this day is over...I mean 40K could be a down payment on a house. What's a realistic number per head to spend on the reception???

IMHO YOUR BUDGET IS WAY OFF IM HAVING 150+ PPL AND IM NOR SPENDING CLOSE TO WHAT YOU ARE. $4K FOR FLOWERS IS INSANE I AM PAYING $650 AND I HAVE 14 PPL IN MY BP
MY BUDGET INCLUDES LIMOS, AND VIDEO AND IM STILL PAYING LIKE 10K LESS. I THINK YOUR ORIGINAL BUDGET OF 20K IS DEF DOABLE(SP?)

Yeah I realize flower budget of 4k is crazy. I've re-worked my budget so its going to be more like 2K or less. Everyone told me flowers are so expensive so I put a number without really talking to the florist...

OH WELL IF YOU ARE INTERESTED THE GIRL I AM USING WORKS IN A FLORIST BUT DOES IT ON THE SIDE SO IT IS MUCHHHHHHH CHEAPER YOU COULD PROBABLY GET EVERYTHING FOR LESS THEN YOU ARE BUDGETIING FOR LET ME KNOW FM ME IF YOU WANT HER #

I think you need to decide what you or whoever is paying can realistically afford. And decide where you can save. We had a budget of 22k and went over- but not by much. I saved by using Burtons for flowers, and by having DIY centerpices. I also saved by entering contests at wedding events and won my video. We also decided to use a place witha max of 150 people to keep us from over inviting people. And we were going to ahve our wedding the beginning of April, but it was like $15 less a head to do it one week earlier. My suggestions are to budget more on things like flowers, invites, and be flexible on your date.
