How much did you pay for a CD of all proofs from your wedding?
Original post by glinda_goodwitch
I was told it was close to $1000 to have a cd of ONLY the pictures that will be in my album, not even all the proofs! Is this ridiculous?

why dont you just take the proofs and scan them yourselves? Do you have a scanner? it would save u $ if u dont have a scanner itis cheaper for you to buy a scanner for like 100 and do it yourself!
1000 is ridiculous!
FM if you need help doing it!
We do have a scanner, and we could do it. But it's more the principle of it all. I'm mad that they are charging so much for something that everyone else is gettng for free.
ETA: I'm also angry because of the fact that we have a very expensive package from them, and for what we are paying we should have it included.
Ah huh...yea that is true!

well, I would flat out tell them that you've called other photographers and that they don't charge anywhere near $1000! If I were you, I would call other places just to be sure.

Yeah, FH wants to talk to them too and see if we can get them to include it. We want to do it in person, because negotiating is always easier in person. We're doing our e-pics in the fall, so we might try to do it then rather than wait til our final appointment with them before the wedding.

Our photographer's price list had a hi-res CD of all photos listed as $450 I think. When we asked her about the price, she lowered it to $250. The price is mainly due to the fact that they're releasing the copyright on their work to you. You might want to ask them about this -- maybe if you wait a couple of years to get the CD, they could lower the price or give it to you for free. Most photographers figure by that time, you won't be going to them for prints anymore, which is how they make a lot of money.
