How much did you pay for your dress?

I wont say exactly how much, but my dress was less than $1000. I looked at more expensive dresses, but personally couldnt justify spending more than that for something that would have absolutely no value to DH or I ever again the day after the wedding. I kept thinking about all the other things I could do with that money.

I said the same think, 'there is no way i am spending more that 2k for my dress', I went to Kleinfelds and walked out $5000 poorer. I saw the Lazaro and said ok ill just try it on for fun. Hahah fun! yeah right. I fell in love. The dress it self cost $41000 but taxes and alterations came up to $5000. Iam thinking about putting it on EBAY once finished with it. What do you think?

I said the same as you, and actually almost got your dress!!! I ended up with another Lazaro!!

I had gone to 3 bridal stores just trying on every dress I found, not looking at the prices. My mom insisted that she would pay for my dress. But I couldn't find one that stuck out to me. I had seen my dress in a magazine, from a new collection and the shop told me they'd be getting it in soon and they'd call me. So, I went in, tried it on and my mom and sis knew that was the one I'd buy. I would never have thought that it would have been under $1,000. I received soooooo many compliments that night but what was more important was that I loved how I looked and felt in it.

Looking at the other posts here, I didn't realize until now that I was at the lower end of the price scale but it is really all on what dress makes you feel beautiful and trying to keep in mind what you can afford as well.

MY DH could not care less...if I asked him today (2 1/2 months later) what my dress looked like, he would not be able to tell me. And right now its just sitting in a box, waiting for...what? The odd chance we'll have a daughter someday who might want to wear it?

DOnt worry about what everyone else is paying, just do what you're comfortable with. Everybody has different finances...not only that but somebody might decide to splurge on the wedding dress, and not splurge on other things, and others decide to splurge on photo and other things and not the dress. Its a personal decision

If the dress is in your budget and its the one you absolutely love then thats fine. But if you're not comfortable spending that much or might not be in the budget then really take time to think about whether you want to spend that

Espo is right.

I did a poll like this a few months ago when I was trying to figure out if I'm paying too much. All I learned was, You have to go with what you love, and what you can afford. Thats it.

There is no set rule as to what to spend. I kept seeing it should be 10% of your budget, but a lot of times its a lot less and a lot of times it more.

I spent over $7,000 But I don't regret it one bit.

around 2300-2400 and then alterations was flat fee of 300 i think.

go with the one you love and in your budget!!

I love my dress....it only cost me $300! I wouldnt trade it for the world, first dress I tried on...and later tried on a couple, but still came back to this one. It was originally $600, but it was on sale, with alterations and shoes it stil ends up at $600.
