Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
About $450 for 225 invites from Wedding-Traditions - got ours mail order and could not have been happier with the service and the look. Included a pearl-paper lined envelope, 5x7 invite, response card, reception card, thank you notes and seating cards plus the return address on the envelopes. I dressed up the seating cards by hot-gluing a small fabric flower in the corner - got those at Michaels. The only trade-off was that it was not quite as heavy a paper as a Crane or other expensive linen invite, but it was not the sort of thing that would be noticed by most of the recipients. This just wasn't an area worth spending too much on.

I spent about $700 on hand designed calligraphy invites, which included 89 addressed inner and outer envelopes and 125 invite sets. Postage for another $110ish.

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
Man, I look cheap when compared to what you girls paid!! I paid about $200 for mine. I am a font and paper freak but I found something I liked, and bottom line, people throw them out. I couldn't see spending that much on something someone will chuck. And I handwrote mine all out not a fancy font script but my nice script, which I think was more personal.

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
I also had that problem, I fell in love with a very heavy and expensive cardstock, that would have put me over $1000, and i just couldn't do it. my mom found the website busybride.com. you need the actual info for the invite, like the book its in, page number, and all details, and i got what i wanted for about a 30% discount. you can even call her with questions, she was very helpful.

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
I spent about $600 for everything including postage and calligraphy...and the invitations were engraved with reception card, response card, and envelopes engraved with the addresses. The invitation was a tri-panel card in Ivory. Also received 100 matchbooks and monogrammed note cards. You send the addresses and they do all the calligraphy and even stuff the envelopes for you, except for the response card so that you do not forget to put a stamp on it. The company is Reaves Engraving, and they are located in North Carolina...the web address is www.reavesengraving.com. I cannot tell you how many compliments were have gotten on how beautiful and elegant the invitations were.

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
I got mine for $600 and change plus postage from one of the Carlson Craft books at Patchogue-Floral... I wish I waited a little longer to get the invites, sounds like everyone got really amazing prices. I just found the whole process a little overwhelming and couldnt wait to pick one, order it and focus my energy on other things, like writing on this chatboard!!!!! lol!!!

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
My Invitations are from Carlson Craft Exclusive Collections, and I love them because they are comtemporary and colorful:75 invites (they are large), with inner envelopes, and addressed outer envelopes, 75 responses with addressed envelopes, 150 informal-thank you cards with not printed envelopes, and 175 seals, no tax, plus faxed proofs and shipping: $247.25

I also already got the nice love letter stamps from USPS website, that way I am sure that I will have the stamps I want for my invitations when I mail them.

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
Less than $400 for 175 invites and 100 matchbooks.I love my invites. Simple and elegant. I have received many compliments! Ivory square with pearlized border with a design in the border. Gold writing (invites, response cards, return addresses, etc.). Dark ivory lining on the inner envelopes.
I did the addresses on the computer so only toner costs!
I used a woman in Bayside (sells 30% off the book price). www.simplyelegantny.com (I think). She has lots of books (not much on the web). She was recommended to me by someone on this board a long time ago.

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
Now I really wished I shopped around. I paid about $600 for 125 invitations - which doesn't include calligraphy and postage. Everything else I saw was alot more expensive so I thought that was the going rate.

I'm meeting w/someone when I get back from Orlando. She is going to custom make a few samples from what I've told her. THis time I discussed budget first. I'll see what she can come up with, and let you all know how it works out.

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
we spent about $1000 for ALL stationary...STD, invites, thank yous and place cards...well worth it...for hand-made...
when it comes down to invites...I know people say they throw them out...but YOU will not...my cousins framed mine and they will hang on my wall forever...and when you think of what you pay for everything else...a few hundred is nothing in the wedding budget...

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
I am spending about $650 (without postage) for 90 invites. It was over my budget, but I am so happy I did. They are beautiful!! As soon as I get them, I will post a pic. They are made from handmade paper, and were custom designed just for me - I told them what I wanted and had in my head, and they took it from there! So nobody will have it before I do!! I just love my invites, if I do say so myself!! I used Favorite Things Invitations. They are a vendor on LIWeddings and are based in Smithtown. The owner, Rebecca is a sweetheart who helped me soooo much with figuring things out, and I HIGHLY recommend them. I needed to save money, so didn't go with the envelope printing, but she only charges $1.50 per invite (for outer and inner envelope addresses).

Re: How much did you spend for invitations?
I think the invitations really do set the tone for the event, but people throw them out. I have a friend that is a Carlson Craft Rep & does invites from home, she works out great deals btw. She offered to do mine immediatly so I looked around at lots of other stuff & found something that fit us to the tee. I wound up paying $450 w/ postage & calligraphy(for 125).I knew I needed it to be elegant & simple due to our wording being the most imporant part.
