How much do you leave for a wedding?

So in a few weeks, it will be FH's and I's first wedding that we go to together. It will be my first wedding since i was like 15 or 16 (so I don't remember a lot of details). What's the normal amount that's left in an envelope? We're very close to them, so were thinking of a gift + money, but not sure how much. Any ideas? Also, FH is best man at the wedding in case that makes a difference

As a couple, we gave $300 to our good friends when FH was a groomsman. As a couple at another friends wedding, we gave $250.

300 is what we give you want to at least cover your plate and a lil something extra

We normally give $300 as a couple.

FH and his friends are completely insane and they each give each other $500 and the best man gives $1000. Who does that??? I think they are nuts lol

FH and I were both in a wedding in August and we gave $500... not saying you have to do that but we did b/c we're both really close with the couple. I would give at least $300 since your FH is the best man, and if you're close with the bride, maybe $400.

I agree. I think if you are in the wedding 500. Obviously though it depends on your situation

I usually give 300. As moh I gave 600. The same when fh was a gm in his best friend's wedding.

Wow! I so didn't realize that that's the norm now for how much people leave at weddings. I remember when I was 15 or so, people would leave about $50 each. I think I forgot that it was 10 years ago

When I was MOH.. wei gave 500. For a good friend usually give 300-400

I think I have been living outside NY for too long....I was expecting some of those sums from family friends, but not my friends!

we give 300 a couple for anyones wedding for close friends/family we would give 400- 500 a couple and no gift.

Depends on how close you are to the couple. I say about $200-300 per couple.

It all depends on the place, time, and how much fun we have. I usually go into the bathroom or car and write a check. We always cover per person cost for the whole wedding and little extra as gift.

Minimum is usually $250 but usually between $300-$400.

We’ll never see that money back because most of those couples won’t be invited to our weddings.
