How much is too much..

to ask your flower girls (actually, their parents) to spend on a dress. I fell in love with a dress at Bridal Reflections that is $190. It's more than my BMs are spending! Is that too much to ask? I have major guilt.

I'm also way behind in ordering ...

I don't think thats too much. If you feel that is too much maybe to offer to pay half.

I personally think that is too much. However, I don't have a flower girl, so I dont' know how much the dresses go for. Did you try looking online to see if you can find the same dress for cheaper?

That is alot to ask! When all is said and done that dress will be over $200. If it were me, and I really loved the dress, I would pay for half of it.

I thought about offering to pay half of the dress cost. I have 3 FGs. When I mentioned that to one of the girl's moms, she seemed embarassed or maybe insulted slightly. I think she though I was insinuating that she couldn't afford it...which is soo not what I meant.

Look around! There are alot of cute dresses for $130 to 150 range. Or Maybe ask the parents if $190 is to much. Maybe the parents don't care about the price.

I think that's too much. Especially for a little girl that's gonna grow out of it soon and probably won't ever wear it again.

I'm looking to stay under $75 which is very hard.

IMO i think that is asking too much. But i definitely know where you are coming from. I found a dress i loved for $200 and i'm having both of my nieces as flower girls. I know that my sister would freak out at the price x2.

check... www.netbride.com for the same dress and they're usually $50 dollars cheaper. Then print out the quote and see if the bridal store will match it. Also try http://www.houseofbrides.com/home.php.

Thanks everyone...after reading the responses I'm definetely scratching the $190 dress off the list. Thanks for the websites too.... I'm going to start searching!

I paid for my leaf girl's dress. I bought it off of Netbride.com and saved myself a bunch. Then did my alterations/additions to it. I of course kept the dress...

i think thats too much... especially for a little girl who is probably gonna spill something on it at the reception..... i would look at other ones, or look other places on line or something to see if you can find it cheaper....

I think it depends who the flower girl is. Is it one of your siblings daughters? Ask the parents how they feel. I would definately spend the money but not everyone would.

i think it is a bit much. i am sorry to say it. do you have any seemstreses in the family? get a pattern you like and have someone make it. just a thought

I think that is a lot. I am sure you could find another one you love that costs a lot less.
