how much say do people who are helping you pay for the wedding have in the decisions you make for it? do you involove them in every decision or just show them the choice you have made before they are final?

We are paying for the wedding ourselves, but in the end if we need help FH's parents have said they will help us-but that does not come with them putting their input in the decision making

well for me it was important to get the opinion of my mother before booking my RH. but pretty much everything else ive booked myself w/ no input. when i go dress shopping i will also bring my mother and sister with me.

we are getting NO help whatsoever from anyone, so no one gets any say...If they have opinions they can keep it to themselves!!!
But for example say if someone was paying for your limo's, let can have an opinion on that in particular...Only give them opinions on what they are paying for, you just dont have to listen to their opinions...

i'm doing everything the way i want...well, of course FH has a say in what i do. my mom is giving us some $, but so far hasn't told me what to do with any of it yet.

we are getting some help from Jackie's parents. depending on the situation... we listen. neither of them has asked us to do anything for the wedding... but they do insist that we invite certain people. that is fine with me. but it's not like they are telling us what colors to use and what not

like john mentioned above..they havent asked for anything outside of giving us their guest list. their help is a gift to us..for us to use and not for them to use it as a way to request things. they suggested it to be used towards the hall so that's what we are doing, my parents wouldnt turn around and say 'since im paying for this you should go with this color dress or this food item on the menu'..in the end its still OUR wedding, not theirs

My parents are paying for everything. What we have done so far is do our own research and then present it to my parents. As long as it is in their budget they won't say no. They def aren't holding it over our heads.

So far no one has given us any financial help towards the wedding so we are the only ones at the moment who have a say.
When someone from either of our familys decide the help us then maybe they have have some say but their say isn't the final decision.

Same here, although my dad is trying to suggest things I am open to hear what he has to say but all the decisions will be up to us...
