How sick are you of 'I'm bored......'

How sick are you of 'I'm bored......'

I have a 3 year old and 6 and 9 year old step-sons.

My three year old is fine....he enjoys playing and can entertain himself with almost anything.

However, I am so sick and tired of hearing my 6 and 9 year old say 'I'm bored, there's nothing to do'. Now we have:

a pool
boogie boards
a trampoline
a swing set
a slip and slide
bikes
skateboards
scooters
baseball bats
baseball gloves
balls
bases
soccar balls
a soccer net
footballs
basketballs
basketball net
gameboy
gameboy advance
pokemon something or other
playstation
playstation II
nintendo
DVD players with tons of movies
and our basement is a playroom and we probably own every toy in Toys R Us
we also have
books
crayons
paint
markers
colored pencils
paper
glue
gluesticks
scissors
etc.......
Plus we live right next to a park that has swingsets, slides, and a full baseball field.

'I'm bored'?????? Are you kidding me,

So the other day I came up with the best response to 'I'm bored'. I told them 'No, with all the stuff you have you are not bored, you are boring'!

Next time tell them there are millions of children around the world without toys, therefore, they should be greatful.

Oh, I tell them that all the time!!!

I've told them if they can't find interest in anything they own we can go to Little Flower and donate their toys. I actually do that anyway when it comes time to do a cleaning. They don't even know half their stuff is gone!!!

My dad's response to that was always 'a bored person is a boring person.'

In a strange twist of fate, my DH says the same thing to me when I say 'I'm bored, lets go do something.'
