How to imply 'adults only' on invitation

Original post by annem13

I've seen some invitations that keep it simple and straightforward and put 'adults only' at the bottom of the RSVP card. I would prefer not to have children at the wedding except for the 2 that are going to be in the bridal party. Although you would think the address etiquette would be helpful, I just want to make sure people are clear about that lol

How to imply

i put 'adult reception' at the top of my reception card. that way no one can say 'but i didn't know i couldn't' when they RSVP for more people then they should!

I would definitely not print 'adults only' anywhere on the invitation (or the website for that matter) as it's bad etiquette to do so (check out the Emily Post website), but I'm much more of a stickler for etiquette than most. People will understand if you only write Mr. & Mrs. Smith on the invitation and do not include the children's names. If there's any confusion, follow it up with a phone call and explain. The idea of '2 seats have been reserved in your honor' on the response card is a good one as well.

You could always draw a baby face with an X across it... That should get the message across!

omg

We have to think about this too. We aren't having kids at the wedding either!
