Have you ever received a comment from a stranger that sort of solidified that we might be much older looking than we think we are???
Yesterday on the subway it was really crowded and I squeezed on and a younger guy (maybe around 20) squeezed on after me and accidentally crashed into me as the doors closed. So he apologized and then called me ma'am ('I am sorry for knocking into you ma'am!')! Oh no......

FH always calls women, miss... I don't know if that is a sign of being old. He does it b/c he thinks he is being polite.

i always feel old..... everyone tells me all the time..... specially when they find out im 26 & have no kids. i don't get it

I have the opposite prob... people think im about 15 so they dont take me seriously... its quite annoying...

oh dont worry about the ma'am thing, alot of people just say that to be polite, not because you are old looking, which you arent!
i agree with that too
being around a lot of soldiers every thing is sir this and maam that don't take offence your as young as you feel

Most places don't ID me anymore, and I constantly get ma'am...I'm only 23, so it's a little odd. Once when I was a senior in HS, I went to get a slice of pizza, and the kid behind the counter called me ma'am...the kid behind the counter that was a year behind me in school and I would see passing in the hallways!
Then on the other hand, me and FH were at Houlihan's a few months ago, and there was a free stella promotion, so the promoter came over and gave us 2 beers. 5 minutes later, the manager came red-faced rushing up to us, saying that he needed to see our IDs because another patron had pulled him aside and told him that the promoters gave beer to minors!!! FH is 28, so we thought it was hysterical, but also a little weird that some random person in the restaurant would 'rat us out' too lol. It made me feel good at least that I looked like a kid.

I get called ma'am almost everywhere I go, but something opposite happened a few weeks ago at the bank, I went with mom to close out an account and the guy helping us was nice enough, I said wow, that was easier that I thought, he said, well, you're with an adult I guess I can trust you....HELLO I'M 26 YEARS OLD!!!!!!! I totally do not look underage....just so odd

Ok well Me FH & a few friends went out for drinks so we go up to the doors & the guy at the door says ID please to me. So i said oh yea im still getting ID'ed haha to FH. The guy at the door then says well i certainly know i dont have to ID you but its the job. IM LIKE D A M N!!!! JUST BURST MY BUBBLE WHY DONT YA! Then he says well you know i mean like i know your not the college kids that sometimes try to get in here. So finally i said hey buddy just give me license & lets end it at that! GOSH!

I guess being from LB and all of my friends owning every bar in it has spoiled me to not need my ID but now that im older im like hooray im getting asked for ID.

Yeah Yeah I still get peole thinking Im in my 20s but, Im not. I dont feel old, Im a mom and in my 30s but Im young at heart.

I get the opposite mostly...this girl was telling me about her driver's ed classes and than asked me about how I was doing in terms of getting my liscense...I said, well I got mine 11 years ago and she was shocked...she died...

We were at the bar at the Melting Pot the other day and my bf told the bartender it was my birthday and the bartender goes 'Oh, the big 2-1 huh? Let me be the first to buy you a drink!' Um, yeah, hi, I'm 28, but I didn't tell him that and let him give me free drinks

Omg me too! Its so annoying. I'm 27 and I always get 'Yeah right, you look 16.' While everyone tells me I'll appreciate that in a few years, and I will, it doesn't help now.

yeah I was talking to someone about careers and she was like ' you are so far ahead in your career' (which is totally a joke btw) and I said, well I'ma bit older than you and said my age and she said ' oh my god, well you've aged really well!!!'

Well, I'm over 25 and got I.D'd the other day at the bar....it used to piss me off, but now I'm starting to take it as a compliment....Kids these days have no idea tho....no concept of age....don't stress about the Maam comment.

I have always been told that I look younger. 'Wow you can't be old enough...can I see your ID?'
So I always had my ID ready.
Last week FH and I went to On the boarder i had my ID in my hand and I don't even get ID'd...guess that means I am getting old...
