How were you proposed to?

LOL that is funny.

FI had the ring by his aunts house for 2 weeks because we live together and he had no place to hide the ring.

His aunt and cousin were sworn to secretcy not to say anything. His cousin and I became good friends and I really compliment her that for 2 weeks her and I spoke everyday and she didnt utter a word.

When it finally happened she called at 7pm and I answered the phone and was all calm. She was a little anxious to hear me scream we are engaged and she kept saying so what are you doing, what are you up too?? I said well nothing really just having cake? She went on 10 second delay then screamed.

I was in NY last year and FH told me we were going to tiffany's to look at my ring (we had gone ring shopping a few months earlier). neways next thing i know we're rushing through central park. and i dont know NY, but i KNOW you don't have to walk through central park to get to tiffany's!!

but i played along and he stopped at this beautiful quiet spot by some lake and did his thang

made up this beautiful speech and showered me with red rose petals.

i didnt get any pictures but i wanted them so bad! so i said after we're married he has to surprise 'propose' to me again in the same spot and bring a camera

My FH proposed to me during dinner in Cinderella's Castle in Disney World. The ring was given to me in a glass slipper on a velvet pillow. After that, we went outside and watched the fireworks over the castle. I was numb!

I was proposed to at Park View at the Boat House in Central Park. Frank told me he was taking me out for dinner for my B-Day. It was such a romantic resturant, and we had a table overlooking the water. He told me he bougt me a gift and I told him that the resturant was so expensive that he shouldn't have bought me something. H pulled out a wrapped box, I opened it and it was a watch box. I thought I just got a new watch . Opened the watch box and there was a little treasure chest inside, and inside that was my beautiful ring. The rest is History!

I was proposed to too at the Castle but in front, here's my story! (i can tell this story 100 times )

In November we had to go down to Disney for our friends' wedding. Well at this point in time I was pretty sick of weddings because it was the eleventh wedding we had been to in the past year and a half. And I had been dating Mike on and off for 7 years and there was no ring in sight
But who can be upset in Disney World??
We had dinner reservations at Cinderella's Round Table for 4pm. We had spent the day in the park with this brother and his fiance and his parents. Everyone disappeared at 3:30. hhhmmm.
He turned to me and said he wanted to check out 'this castle' So we walked up the path to the front of Cinderella's Castle . .he was pale white (whiter than usual) and his hands were clammy. we finally got up to the front entrance and at 3:46pm NOvember 16th (2days before my bday). . .
. . .He said'You know I love you, right?' and I said 'Yeah. . .I love you too' then he got down on one knee and asked 'Will you marry me?'
It was the PERFECT proposal for me because I am a fairy tale fanatic!!

OK - my turn :)

I was at home eating dinner with the family and he shows up at the house after working all day. So as he is eating and I'm clearing the table he whispers to my mom to get the ring (mom and dad had it in the house b/c he didn't trust his landlord at the time). So I see my dad run down the hall and my mom starts yelling for me to come have dessert....ok, still no idea what is going on. I go into the dining room and pull out my chair and see the little black box - I scream and open the box. Then I start crying and run over to him, then hand the box back to him and make him ask me!!!!! He was so embarrassed and 100 different shades of red. It was so funny.

He was supposed to do it the next day but he couldn't wait any longer - he is such a riot!

Hubby proposed on our cruise.
He wanted to do it that night at night on the deck. It was so windy that night that i didnt want to go outside. He got so mad at me, but I didnt know

So he did it the next day on the side of the deck when we were out to sea

here's mine:

the weekend before labor day last summer he decides we should go to the beach b/c summer is almost over we haven't been to the beach at all (we live in virginia) and the next weekend we're going to the poconos with my family. i was a little suspicious b/c it's not like him to plan trips at the last minute, but i figured he's starting school again soon and he just wants to spend some time together.

so we go down to the outer banks, nc and get to this gorgeous hotel where our room is just steps from the ocean. it was beautiful! we go have dinner and then he's like let's go for a drive and check out what's here. i said sure. eventually we end up at the end of the road on the beach. so we get out to go for a walk along the water. the best part is there was a full moon and no one else was on the beach.

after walking for a little while he's like hang on a second and he got down on his knee, made a little speech and then asked me to marry him. by that time i was crying (and i'm not a crier) and i said of course!

after that we spent a beautiful weekend at the beach (minus a few mosquitoes). we waited to tell my family until we saw them the next weekend. it was really hard to keep that secret for a week, but i really wanted to tell them in person.

FH had made arrangements for my ring to be put into a display in the gem room at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. We were going to the museum for the day (I didn't know about the proposal part), but my mom threw her back out so I had to stay home to take care of her.

He ended up proposing in the living room of our apartment the next day. He said that he couldn't handle the stress of trying to plan all that again.

In Las Vegas on New Years Eve at NY's midnight. We then went in front of New York New York hotel and called our families

We were in a rowboat at the Boat House in Central Park

I posted this before but I love these stories!!!!

At Pfiff (our favorite restaurant)
Once we got to the restaurant, the owner was standing next to the bar. She leads us to our table and right away I notice that there are rose petals strewn all over the tabletops. I just thought that she was trying to make the restaurant more romantic. Sitting on top of our table (the corner table...which we always sit at) is a bouquet of Lily of the Valley (my favorite flower). Rob had them flown in from Scandinavia. So I thought he was being incredibly romantic. I still had no clue.
As we are finishing dinner, suddenly 'our song' comes over the loudspeakers. (I Love the Way You Love Me- John Michael Montgomery) This place is one of those trendy restaurants...not exactly a place for country music. But I noticed that nobody else in the restaurant was fazed by this. So as the song is playing, I started to cry as Rob starts to sing it to me. Then they bring out Crème Brulee (my favorite dessert) which is not on the menu...and Rob had them make it.
After dessert, I Can Show You The World From Aladdin starts playing. Then Rob starts this speech about how much I mean to him, how much he loves me and wants to spend forever with me. He asked if I was ready to start an adventure of a lifetime with him. By now, I am bawling. He says...'well there is only one more question to ask you then' as he comes around the table and gets down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and he has this silver bell with my initials engraved on it. I am just crying and staring at it (it was the ring box but I was in shock). So he opens it and sitting there is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. So of course I said yes. Then they start to throw rice at us...everybody in the restaurant was in on it. The owner had told people about it a couple of weeks ago and people came by just to watch him propose. They bring over a bottle of champagne. As we leave the restaurant, the guy in the Santa hat leads us to one of those bicycles with the seat on the back, covered in rose petals. Rob hired him to take us to the next bar, Underbar, (another favorite place of ours) where he has reserved us an alcove. The owner came over and they sent over two of our favorite apple martinis. On the way there, he plays this CD of all love songs he made...and once we got there, he played me this DVD slideshow of pictures of us throughout the year...all the places we have been together...
Syracuse, Baltimore, The Bahamas, New Orleans, Saint Louis, New York...it was perfect.

FH proposed at dusk in Florence, Italy as we were walking to dinner....
It was so picture perfect that I can't believe I didn't know...but he caught me by TOTAL suprise....

He started by reading a letter that he had written me in Italian (which he is) and the last question was will you marry me? after he finished he asked if I understood what he had asked me and I said no, so he got down on his knee and read me the letter again in English.....
(at that point I had some idea...)

I couldn't even see the ring through my tears....

I got engaged on March 8th. It was such a surprise!!! I was completely clueless. FH woke me up on Sat. at 6 am and gave me a letter telling me to get up, get washed and dressed, and pack my toothbrush, brush, contacts..stuff like that in a bag. Then he said that I needed to be ready to leave the apartment by 7am and NO QUESTIONS!!! We left and got in that car and to my surprise ended up at the airport. We got to the airport and he made me wait away from the ticket counter, so I would not know where we were going until we got to the gate. We ended up going to Florida. The funny thing was that the plane we took only held 50 passangers. I HATE FLYING! As soon as I saw the plane I cried. But it was ok..the flight was great and we landed safely. When we got in the airport a car and driver picked us up and brought us down to the beach. He took us to a fountain(where FH told me he loved me for the first time 3 and a half years ago)and when we got there my parents, grandparents, brother, and FH's parents were all there...there was Frank Sinatra music playing..there was a red carpet leading to the fountain and FH took my hand and led me to the fountain..read me a poem and hit one knee. It was so special. It was funny because we were in a public place and strangers we stopping to watch. I could not stop crying or covering my eyes.

We were at his uncles house for Christmas Eve. My mom was actually with us because my brother was away and I didn't want my mom to be alone on Christmas Eve. Right before my mom was leaving he asked if everyone could be quiet for a moment. I had no idea what was going on. Next thing I knew he was pulling this little box out of his pocket. He dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him, right in front of his family.
