I have a huge problem! I am getting married on good friday and my church won't marry me. I am so bummed out.
As of now I am booked to get married at JT
Does anyone have any other alternitave ideas chapels etc....
any help is greatly appreciated.!

ohhh that *****!!! we had wanted to do that weekend as well so we could just go on our honeymoon during our vacation (we're both teachers) but the church doesnt do weddings that whole weekend b/c easter is a 'sad' holiday....i know friends of ours got married a a chapel over in roslyn i think....its considered a church of scientology, but the ceremony was not weird at all.....it was really not religious at all....if your interested in contacting them i'll find out the name! just FM me! it was really a beautiful little chapel

Yes I have considered JT but the time constraints are hard. I would have to see FH before the ceremony to take pictures etc and I want to avoid that if I can...
What does FM mean? Sorry i am new and trying to catch up on the lingo LOL

Ooo that really $ucks... i'm sorry... i honestly have no idea what you could do... i mean you could try to get married at JT and make it so that you dont see him... but i'm not sure how that works with them...

I would like to know who is telling you that you have to see your FH before your ceremony because that is BS!!! That is up to you and your photographer- for example. we are getting married at Vineyard Caterers and although it was suggested for us to do pics before hand, I said 'ef that' My girls and I are doing pics and he is doing pics with the boys- we added a 1/2 hr to our cocktail hour for him and I pics... talk to them again! Good Luck

I have tried to switch the date but it is more expensive and then I lose half of my menu.
Nobody said I had to see FH before they suggested it as a way to save time.
I checked out the historical chapel in woodbury it is adorable and I will probably use them
If anyone knows any other Historical places indoors let me know

my church did a similar thing with us. I called back in August right after i booked the RH they said it was too early to set a 2009 date and to call back, when I called back in december they told me to call back because it was xmas time, i finally get in touch with the priest after x-mas and he makes an appt for me (keep in mind every conversation I had with them, I told them my date). We go in to meet the priest and he goes oh im sorry but we're holding that date for baptisms. Baptisms a year and a half in advance, he would not do anything to put my wedding in, I even offered to just have the 30 min ceremony without the mass. He said no but i could book the week before or the week after.....I almost had a heart attack bc i had the RH, Band and Photog booked.
We had to go to another church in my neighborhood which thank god was extremely nice with us. And one thing is for sure, I will never go back to my church for anything, they lost a parishioner!

call the wedding planner, Francheska @ JT. ASk her to give you the number to a community church that is close by to JT. She gave it to me and I threw it out b/c even though it is a Church it is not a Catholic church. It does not have a specific religion, which is it's categorized as a community church, but they do have an alter and the cross. Hope this helps. Why can't you get married @ JT, if you don't mind me asking

It is Good Friday so i can't find any church to marry us.
I have no problem getting married at JT It is just that the can only host my ceremony at 8 PM I want to get married earlier and NOT have to see FH before hand.
I will definitely check out one of those other churches.
