I am FURIOUS right now...Updated

I'm shaking I'm so angry right now...there may be some good people in the world, as the taxi story showed us, but overall, people still S/UCK.

My father just called me at the office to let me know that my sister passed out at school and hit her head. Twice. She fell backwards, and wasn't around anything/anyone to break her fall, so after the initial hit, she bounced up, and hit it again. In a classroom full of people. Who just watched.

That's right, they did nothing. They watched her fall, watched her hit her head, then stared at her on the ground.

You would THINK that someone would call 911 or for help, or would attempt to find her phone in her bag or pocket to call home. No...they did nothing.

She was out cold for a while....and when she came to, she had to call our mom HERSELF, who then had to arrange for her to be brought across the street to the hospital. (SB)

Seriously.....what the EFF is wrong with people. She could have died, and nobody did anything. It's not like she was alone...she was in a room full of people, and a professor.

She's in the ER now getting a cat scan and an IV and she may be admitted for the night. I'm shaking. I am so angry right now I'M ready to pass out, I can't stop shaking.

Omg! I can't believe NO ONE did anything! That is terrible! I am so sorry! I am going to be praying for her that everything turns out ok and that all the tests come back normal! I am so sorry Ali!

Oh MY!!! That's sooo horrible! I hope that everything works out!!

I would immediately call a lawyer, your mom should absolutely at least speak to the school. I dont mean that in a 'chase them for their money' kind of way, but in a 'scare them to death so this doesnt happen again' kind of way. That teacher was responsible for taking at least reasonable precautions for your sisters health.

I'm so sorry people are awful.

Well more importantly I just hope she is ok.
The class just staring at her is a bit strange... they musn't have any quick thinkers in that class! Some people see things and their reaction is no reaction. So they just stare into space really... kinda like going into shock. It's sad that the PROFESSOR didn't do anything... if anyone he should of been the one to react!

People are idiots. Its called diffusion of responsibility..i learned about it in psych classes...it s apparently so common!

Thanks everyone...I don't know if she's being admitted at all, she's in the ER right now, I guess they'll make a judgement call after some more tests. I'm still really shaken up at that reaction.

That was the FIRST thing that popped into my head...Kitty Genovese. I was going to mention it too, but I didn't know how many people had psych backgrounds or not. I'm livid.
