I am livid!!!!!!

Original post by kat124

So today I find out that my MOH's sister is doing her daughter's chirstening luncheon at my RH the Sunday before my wedding!!!!

I understand her schedualing issues, and that my RH is affordable (her husband gets shipped to Irak the week after my wedding, and she lives in virginia, while all her family lives in NY) she is taking my wedding as an opportunity to be in town and do her daughter's thing too.

HOWEVER...there are thousands of other places, Sugar Honey Ice Tea....host a freaken barbecue...or something...but why do it at my place!!!

Am I being unrealsitic...crazy...or am I right?!!

I wouldn't worry about it. A christening held there will pale in comparison to a wedding held there. Two totally different events... they won't even be close to being the same.

:( Sorry I wouldn't be upset. The majority of the guests she'll have at her christening is not the same guests you'll have at your wedding.
Once you decorate, you'll make this wedding and the RH your own, so I wouldn't worry too much.
I agree with one of the posters who said it's only your moh's sister..i would probably be a bit peeved, but definitely not livid.

I'd be pissed too. Especially if she knew.

I would be so pissed off! I think you have every right to be mad. However, I will be honest, the main reason it would piss me off is b.c it would take away from my wedding.

I can understand why you' be upset... especially if there are a number of people attending both events... but really... no one has that much fun at a christening! It'll only make your occasion seem all the more cooler

You definitely need to let this go.

This does not matter.

This does not affect whether or not you have a beautiful wedding. This does not change the fact that your family and friends will be there with you to celebrate your love and your union with your new husband. This does not take anybody away from your wedding, or lower the quality of your event, or in any other way take anything else away. There are too many other things for you to be worrying about right now to be upset at somebody for booking a party at a public reception hall. This does not in any way change anything that is at all important about your wedding. I chose a special and unique place for my wedding. Plenty of people had been there before, some even recently. It in no way affected how special my wedding was.

This doesn't matter. There are a lot of things about your wedding that DO matter - focus on those. You'll be a lot happier, and a lot less stressed out than if you let yourself get upset over these things that are really just irrelevant in the end.

im sorry but i would be pissed too....i would eventually get over it and it would be fine because the wedding will be WAAY better then a christening, but......i know i would react the same especially since you are doing all this work to make your day special and unique.

Maybe (1) she's from VA & doesn't know the area (where in NY is her family from?) (2) Maybe she got a GREAT deal, mentioning your name & party date. (3) she's just clueless. LOL I too would be annoyed, to say the least.

Not sure what the big deal is. Its not like its your sister, or your MOH...its your MOH's sister. Do you own the RH? If it was available she had just as much right to book it for a christening as you did for your wedding. Sorry, to sound so harsh and not understanding, but really, I don't think you should sweat it.

i agree also. i'd be a lil upset, but i'd get over it quickly. a wedding will be a totally different experience than a luncheon, so u really have nothing to worry about.
