FH and I got in to a hugeee fight, and i dont know whats going to happen, all because of his psycho mother... i truly despise my FMIL, and mind you im not really bitchy or anything, all i wanted was to be treated like im part of the family etc...i have a wonderful realtionship with my mom and i always hoped thats how it would be with my FMIL....fine i know sometimes peoples personalities clash... thats all well and i can be civilized and mature about it..keep a distance but yet still be respectful
but today we got in to a huge fight over something his mom said/did and FH finally came out and said:wellll you and I both know that you werent my mom's top pick ...
ummm all along he's been sugar coating and saying... whats their not to like about you sara, your perfect ...
what the hell yea OKAY maybe im not, maybe she needed a real B*tch as her daughter in law and than she'd realize but cant she just suck it up and be happy for her son?

Veteran of the in-law wars here...
don't be upset you're not her 'top pick'
It has been common knowledge that both FMIL and FFIL didn't think that highly of me (I'm not polish, and I'm an older woman the scandal )
but frankly, the more I know them, the more I realize their judgement shouldn't be trusted not only on judging the character of a person, but also their priorities in life....
If you're in laws are like mine, it's a badge of pride to not be on their list
I bet the majority of couples have at least one set of parents grumbling about the FH or FW. It's unfortunate, but that's life. Just do as I do, and treat them EXACTLY as they treat you. Nice leads to nice, nasty......

ughh i cant believe fmil said that and i CANT believe fh decided to tell you that!!! just remind him that since he loves both of you he has to find ways to help you get along-not hate each other more!! ughh guys are so dumb sometimes!!!!
I have had a million fights with FH over his mother. She is a psyco. She loves to instigate. All I can do is give you some of these and hope it will be OK.

I'm soooo sorry you have to deal with this That was terrible for your FMIL to say........I just can't beleive that! Yes, everyone is allowed to their own opinion, but GEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW RUDE of her!
I hope this all works out for you though ......... when you marry your FH, you marry his family, so unfortunately, if this is how she is now, I'm not sure it will change in the future.
