Last night I was making churros and I had about 2 inches of oil in the pan. I am making them with the Pampered Chef tool and after like 10 churros the tool came off the holder piece and went into the frying pan and the oil totally splattered all over my right arm and it looks so so bad. I can't believe this! Does anyone know about oil burns? Does the scar stay forever? Does anyone know anything that works really well on oil burns? Like an ointment or something? Any nurses? HELP!!
Ouch, that looks bad!!! Honestly, you should go to your doctor and get some ointment or whatever he/she suggests. Good luck and feel better!!

This - don't worry, I had to have a beautymark removed from my arm once, and the hole they made was wayyy bigger than the mark itself but they gave me some kind of ointment that helped it heal with no scarring really. Feel better!

Ouch!! (This is why I don't cook and fiance does it all b/c I would burn down the apartment and myself lol).
Definitely get checked out by a doc. I am most certain there is something you can get... sooner the better so it doesn't scare so badly... maybe keep ice on it?
Feel better soon.

I would go to a doctor. They can usually prescribe a cream that is stronger than the ones on the store shelves. I think you should be ok with minimal scarring. On another note, I would probably contact pampered chef about their tool. I wouldn't be looking for $$ but I would let them know that there is something wrong.

whatever you do do NOT put water on it! It takes a burn 30 minutes to stop hurting, if you can stick it out for that long it will stop hurting. I am a culinary graduate so I've had many burns like this they suck!

Ouch! Try Vitamin E ointment. Its over the counter. If that doesn't work you may want to go to the doctor for something stronger. But I think it will do the trick! Good luck my dear.

Go to your doctor or better, ask for a referral to a dermatologist. They specialize in burns.

Re: I am so upset!!!
I am def. going to the doctor this week. It seems to be getting better...well the pain did anyways. I did call the doctor and she told em what to do. Seems I will have to wait about 3 weeks to a month so see it start to fade. She said if there is any scarring that mederma will take care of it. My gosh, it just looks so so so so bad right now. Thanks for all of your help ladies! I'll post an update in a few weeks.

Re: I am so upset!!!
Definitely Mederma!
Back in college when I worked catering, I got this massive steam burn on the underside of my arm. I let it dry out and then immediately started using Mederma on it and the scar disappeared within a couple of weeks.
