1. The cause of the blackout in the northern east coast has yet to be determined. However, within half an hour after the blackout they somehow knew that it wasn't terrorism??? 2. There was a blackout in London two weeks after our blackout. A lot of people are not aware of this blackout because the news did not mention it much. England supports US foreign policy. Rush Hour Power Cut Hits London 3. There was a blackout in Italy last week - most people did not hear about this either. Italy also supports US foreign policy. Power Returns To Italy After Outage
So three blackouts within 6 weeks... in the US and the two countries that are most vocal with their support for the US. It gets better:
4. This was barely publicized at all: Al Qaiada Claims Responsibility for Blackout Al Qaida took responsibility for the East Coast Blackout; they said it was a present to the iraqi people; and they called it Operation Quick Lightning.
5. Remember how within a few minutes we heard that the blackout was caused by lightning- even though there wasnt any lightning anywhere? See #4 above- Operation Quick Lightning.
I truly hope these events are not all related. But at the same time I am suspicious and worried that they are not telling us everything.
Edited to make link work.

Re: I am suspicious and worried about the Blackouts!
I think it is very strange that this is happening and I am nervous. That is only because my mom & aunt are leaving for Italy this Saturday. They we in London the we of 9/11/01 and they were on one of the first planes back into the US!!!
I think that they are nervous too but they are going anyway.

Yes, thank you Luna and Misty for the perspective. I understand we live in suspicious times but we can't let our fears and suspicions overrule what can be explained logically - or rule our lives. JMO though.
Re: I am suspicious and worried about the Blackouts!
I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility ...since UK and Italy are the biggest supporters of the US involvement in Iraq...however my thoughts are that if they had a plan to take out the power...they would really take out the power...not test to see if it worked so that we could fix it...
hope for the best...prepare for the worst...I guess
