I cannot believe this- I am so upset

Once this happened to me, I knew that I had to come on here and talk to you girls...

a little background..

FH lived with this really nice guy his senior year in college - they had been friends their entire 4 years because of being on the football team together- I met him my junior year and his girlfriend, who is now his FW. We all hung out together our senior year- like a lot. She and I actually drove through a blizzard together to see them play in their last playoff game. Anyway, what I'm trying to say, is that all 4 of us are extremely good friends.

Well, we got their wedding invitation today and it said 'Mr. Matthew XXXX and GUEST' and GUEST???? I could not believe it. And guest?? Like who else do they think he is going to bring? And aren't we all friends? I am beyond upset and seriously hurt by this. Am I nuts for feeling this way???? I just cannot believe this. It's not like they don't know me or my name or anything like that, which is why I'm sick over it. I just feel really hurt.

ETA: FH is in the wedding party

That is beyond rude......When we made out our invites we found out the names for our guests sig others. Even if we had never met them it was important to us they did not feel like a guest, but a part of the party

Ugh!! That's so crappy!!
I would also be offended if I was 'And guest' on an invitation...I mean you're engaged!!!
How this happened considering you are friends with this couple is beyond me.. I hope that the person who printed the addresses wasn't the bride...that's the only reason I could think of that your name wasn't on there!!

I would be upset as well. I know I personally made an effort to get the last names of all of my friends bfs and some of them I am not that close with.

tricia, that totally *****!! i would be beyond upset if any of our friends treated us that way. we made sure, before we sent out our STD that we got all of the last names of our friends' sig others if they were in a serious relationship - they didn't even have to be engaged, but we wanted them to know that they were invited too. i'm so sorry that that happened. people just don't think sometimes

Do you think someone else address the invites for them and did this? I know I couldnt remember some of my guests significant others and did the same thig and guest. However you stated that you are all good friends so I really don't know what was the story behind this one.

Sorry that you're so upset Some people just don't get it. FH and I have lived together for almost 5 years and I know how I felt receiving an invite addressed to him and guest, it really is a crappy thing for people to do. I also made sure that when I sent out our invites that I got names of almost everyone. If they lived together, dated for awhile, were engaged, it was sent to MrSoNSo and or vice versa, The only invites that I addressed with guest were those few that I knew that did not have a BF/GF and were just dating random people.
Some people are like school on a Sunday....

Tricia, I'd be very hurt and upset if I were in your shoes!!! Last year my FH got an invite with his name 'and guest' - this was before we got engaged, but we had been together for over 3 years and were talking marriage... anyway, I was annoyed, but I figured they just didn't know my last name and didn't ask or whatever. But in your case, you ARE ALL FRIENDS!!!! They OBVIOUSLY know your name.

I don't know. Maybe their parents or friends sent out the invites and ... well, I don't know. That s*cks!!!

do you think maybe someone else helped them out with their invites like their mom? family member or friend?? that it was done by accident

Aww.. man.

Im sure its an oversight somehow!!.. Perhaps the person addressing the envelopes didnt have a detailed list and it got overlooked somehow.
I hope thats what it is!!

Even if their parents sent out the invites, they all know me too I just feel really hurt
