I don't think we're going to make our minimum

I don't think we're going to make our minimum

I'm bummed. First, I'm bummed that we still have about 30 outstanding RSVP cards we haven't received (and our RSVP date was Saturday).

Next, we just sat down and went through who we know can / can't come out of those who haven't responded. I don't think we have a prayer of making our minimum!

Even counting ever 2 vendors as 1 toward the minimum (our hall said we could if we have to), we're still a few people under -- if it's best-case scenario.

I'm so bummed. We invited almost 200 people -- How could we not even make it to 140?!

Now we'll be paying for people who can't come... hopefully our hall will throw something in for us. Guess we'll have to see. We meet with them on Sunday.

I'm just so bummed... Hardly anyone from FH's family is coming...

ETA - There is no B list and everyone was invited with a guest. I'm just venting.

Hey, at least we won't have to pay any extra for vendors now -- We have a 10 piece band + 2 photographers (and possibly assistants)... Even with that we can't make the minimum!

I'm sorry your so bummed!!!

If its any consolation I tracked down my last few guests YESTERDAY and my wedding is in 11 days!!! I ended up adding 10 more people who I thought would not be coming.

Do you have any friends that could bring a date that you originally didn't send a +1 too???

If not, hopefully your RH will throw a few things in for you!!

The same thing happened to us. We invited so many ppl, we don't understand how we aren't going to make it. Now we wish we'd invited many of the ppl we cut from the list b/c it was getting too long. I was upset about it for a while, especially when I did the seating arrangements and many of the tables were so empty looking, but in the end, there is nothing you can do. We just have to suck it up, i guess. Just try to concentrate on other aspects of the day. Lots of

i would give the people who didnt rsvp some time! it s u c k s (they bleep that out apparently) that you dont think you made your minimum.. but it'll still be amazing even if you have to pay for the extra people!

For some reason unknown, it seems that many of the RSVP cards are not returned by the date. I know it's coming up but try to focus on some other things that may need your attention.

You can always ask a sibling if they want to invite a friend or two, that you know.

I'm sorry to hear this Kara. Those people will be missing out on a beautiful wedding.

Aw...I'm sorry Can you take some of our guests? FH invited half of the FD- and you know firemen don't say no to an open bar

I agree with the other girls, I would call some people and tell them to invite a guest.

Good Luck!

I am sorry. What was your guarantee vs your actual. We had our RH lower our min from 150 to 145, but that was the best they could do. We will probably end up with 140. (without b-list)

See what they can do when you talk to them. Ask them to knock it down 10 and maybe they will do 5. It never hurts to ask.

I know what you're going through. We ended up 29 people under our minimum and we were soooo mad. Talk to your hall ASAP!!!! Our hall was so happy when we told them with as much time as possible, not waiting until your meeting with them. They really worked with us and made us feel much better about it. Ask for anything you can. But if you're only about 5 under, not a big deal.

do u have family that does'nt do rsvps? like my family.. they won't rsvp.. they just show up.. can't stop them... can't change them.
. just accept them..

maybe get the numbers of those folks whose rsvps didn't come back and call them..

I can totally sympathize with what you're going through We invited tons of people as well (50% declined... some of these are people I'm very close with).

I think you have to accept it. You invited them, it is up to them to say yes... you did all you could. They are the ones missing out on your beautiful wedding.

I suggest inviting some more people. I invited some people last-minute (if you can) and many were so excited & have said yes. Or, tell people to bring guests. That will get your closer to your minimum. Also ask your hall to see if they can throw some extras in for you.

Good luck!!! It'll all work out.

same with us, we invited almost 200 and only 140 are going - our minimum is 165. maybe if my maitre'd would call back i could get him to throw something in

the way I see it, at least I know how much $$ the hall will be, i dont have to pay any more than I thought

Well, this DOES need my attention. I need to have my tables done this week -- I have to get my place cards to the calligraphy artist by the end of the week.

We're calling people. I'm not just sitting back to wait and see if they're going to respond or not. I don't have that kind of time unfortunately.

No, that's my point. We have been calling people and now knowing who is likely coming and not coming, we're pretty certain we'll be lucky to get 120 people to come.

We invited almost 200 people and our minimum was 140.

I'm not angry at the people who aren't coming. Most of them are people I don't even know. I'm just bummed that about 40% of our guest list won't be attending.

We didn't have a b-list and we didn't have anyone NOT invited with a guest. We invited everyone we wanted there -- I am not going to go grab random people just to have warm bodies. Besides that, I literally don't think we know any more people to invite. The wedding's only a month away, anyway, so inviting them after the RSVP date would be a dead giveaway that they were back ups. Besides that, like I said, I don't want to invite people just to have warm bodies there.

I am just frustrated and venting.

Absolutely everyone invited to our wedding who was single was invited with a guest.
