I would just not use it the day of the wedding. Say that you forgot it or that the hall forgot to use it.

I would tell her you already have one. If you feel weird accepting it and saying it now, tell her that your FMIL had ordered you one as a surprise and didnt know.
I wouldnt use it though, it is something that is going to be in your pictures for all to see. And if you hate it you shouldnt have to use it.

Tis is what you do, put flowers on the cake or another topper that a 'close family member' 'gave' you, so you 'HAD' to use it. Bring hers along, tell them NOT to put it out at all and then at the end of the wedding tell her 'OMG I can't believe them! I just realized they were supposed toput the topper you gave me next to the cake and they didn't put it out!!!! Grrrr!'
