I HATE my wedding band!!!!

ok long story as short as i can make it.....my ering is not very wedding band friendly....i didnt want the band with the part that hugs around the stone, so I opted for a wedding band 'jacket' well i get to the jeweler and i HATE the way it looks.....makes the band look super thick, and its so uncomfy!

so FH and I decide to take one half of the 'jacket' to see if I would like the way it looks that way, so here are some pics....I like the way it looks, however it keeps popping off the ring and moving around and its so annoying, the only way to prevent that is to sotter (sp?) the 2 rings together!

so here are my options....
1. i get a band thats regular and i wear them on 2 seperate hands....yuck! and i cant stand rings on my writing hand

2. i get a regular band and have it not sit perfectly against the ering....yuck!

3. I get my ering reset with a higher setting so the regular band sits against it normal....FH is sad that it wont be the ring he propsed with

I cant win!!!! i dont know what to do

i dont know, in the future i may change my mind and want to wear the ering on my right hand, i dont want to be tied into doing that.....sottering is not and option for me

I love them together and think of it this way they will be stuck together for life like you and FH

is it terrible that i want to reset it? i would keep it all exactly the same just make the ring 'head' higher and put a bridge under it, that way i can have a whole wedding band and have it lay flat

i dont know what to do....i wish the jeweler told FH to make the setting higher when he designed it

I would try one on like this first b/c you might not like it b/c it looks so high. personally- I love the two together with the jacket but see why you might want to keep them separate .

i did try a similar one on but with the higher setting, and i liked it equally, i just feel terrible to change the ring, b/c then it wont be my ring anymore

i posted on 08 and BHB to see what girls with similar rings did, but no responses yet

i am a lefty and so i always write with a ring on that hand ... umm you get used to it ... i understand. i dont like the way thick bands look either on my little hands soooo i would wear it on the other hand in your case.

My friend had the same problem so she wears her e-ring on her right hand and her wedding band on her left and it still looks amazing. Your ring is soo pretty!!!!

thank you! i LOVE my ering, i jsut really want to wear it as a wedding set....i dont like how the skinny wedding band looks alone, and i cant afford a larger one......i'm one big pity party tonight, everyone is trying to give suggestions, but nothing is what i want, i really just want it all to fit together the way its supposed and not constantly fall apart

Maybe you can try another jewler and see if they have any other suggestions. I am going to have the exact same problem....

i actually think they look amazing! exactly the way i would want it if i had your e-ring. i'd consider soldering them together because you wouldnt wear your wedding band on its own since its not a complete circle, and you wouldnt want to wear your ering on its own

my ering is also low set and nothing sits flush. i have a small gap w/ my wedding band but it doesnt bother me. im considering having them soldered bc my wedding band spins sometimes and its only diamonds halfway around... but i like to mess around with them so who knows, we'll see

I think that the wedding band in that picture actually looks really nice with the ring. Although, I am having a similar problem with my ring and I think I am just going to end up wearing it on my right hand. I'm not happy about that, but it's my only option and I want to wear my Ering forever. Plus FH doesn't seem to mind either way.

i totally understand what you are saying. my e-ring is almost exactly the same. when i got it, i thought it was set kinda high and thought about getting it lowered, but fh told me the jeweler did it that was so the wedding band would sit underneath. that said, with your opposition to soddering together, which i totally get, because i would never do that either, i would have it re-set a little higher. i understand fh's feelings, but it's not like you are totally changing the setting, you're just raising it a little bit....that's totally different than say adding the pave around the center stone or on the band. i know this is long, but i hope i helped.
