I hate when people borrow $$$$ and dont pay it back!!
This may sound petty...but it still pisses me off. So, a few weeks ago, I was at my Sat part time job(receptionist for a real estate office) one of the agents there, who I am friendly with...but not 'friends' with mentions that he forgot his cash at home, and he hates to ask, he is really embarrassed...can he borrow $20 from me? So, me, I feel bad for him, and I also like him, so I say, sure..but knowing I probably wont see the money again..lend him only $10, so he can at least buy himself lunch.So, he thanks me and promises when I come to work next Sat, there will be an envelope with my money waiting for me...three weeks later..no money. I know for $10 I shouldnt be mad..but it DOES get me mad cause I work a job on my day off,making $12/hr..because I need the money,I work six days a week, obviously because I am not rich, and not because I like to work. I would never ask someone I was not best friends with the lend me any amount of money and if I borrow money from someone...I always make it a point to pay them back IMMEDIATELY. Sorry, know I am rambling...I have just been pissed about this....VENT OVER

trust me i know how you feel. I hate borrowing money from people and if I have to I make sure to pay it back right away. I am willing to lend people money but i get really mad if people don't pay it back...or at least make an offer. Its not about the $10 its the principal of it.

Do you know if you have any listings for Glendale, Forest Hills or Kew gardens or even Middle Village?

What a heffa!! You need to ask him for your money, he probably forgot too!! I hate when people do that also, but you have to demand it from him!! I know I would, I hate lending people money!!

Ughh I hate when people do that, it's so shady.
You should ask... but if you don't want to ask, couch it in something, like 'Oh hey, I have to buy so and so after work today.. could I have that 10 bux back? I really need it.'

You know what?? I really think he forgot (well at least I hope that is the problem) I mean he is a really nice man. It just gets me mad...its the principle of the matter because like I said...I hate owing money to people and if it was me, even if I had to make a special trip..I would pay that person back the next day.

I hate that too. It doesnt matter how small the amount of money is I think ppl should still pay it back. I lost a good friend of 16yrs because of this. I loaned her money many times over th eyears and she never paid me back and it didnt bother. I never asked back for it because I know that she needed it and I would be okay without it but the last amount of money I loaned her I really needed it back and I told her and she never gave it back. She even stopped picking up my calles for weeks because she didnt want to pay it back. If she told me that she didnt have it I would have been fine but the fact that she ignored my calls hurt me. She was one on my BMs. Needless to say I just stopped speaking to her and she is no longer in my wedding. It is all about principle sometimes.

Hey, that is a pretty good idea...I am such a wimp..I have no bal**. I sit here and ***** to you girls...but I definately have no guts to confront him.

See, for me...I wouldn't care. To me, I have spent $10 in worse places and if I could lend someone $10 to get lunch, I'm OK with it. If it were a substantial amount of $$ I'd get annoyed, but I tend to be very laid back about things. I am the kind of person that will give you my last $ so you can eat something and I will go hungry.

Actually, I dont really care about the $10...it isnt going to make me rich...I throw away $10 on stupid stuff...I am annoyed that the guy doesnt stop to think...'hey this girl is working on a Sat.....making $12/hr...cause she needs the money....let me make a point of paying her back'. Guess I am petty..dunno.

Sorry, forgot to respond to you...I live in Westchester and work in White Plains, so I only have access to listings in Westchester...sorry I couldnt help you out!!

It's annoying but you can't control the way other people think or act. Is it rude that he hasn't stopped to think? Yes, but people can honestly be forgetful. The only way he will know to pay you back is for you to say something instead of stewing

so funny you posted this! this situation is going on in my office today. the staff of my office is giving my office manager a gift card for Christmas, and I am the person organizing this whole thing. I have been chasing people down for $7 for the last 2 days i have no shame...i already fronted the money for the gift card and most of these people make more than me, so i will chase them down, nothing wrong with bringing it up to that guy on saturday to remind him about it

The best way to lose a friend is lend them money. In this case, have him buy your lunch next Saturday. Don't be shy or embarrassed. It's the holidays!! You need every dollar you have. (I know I do!!)
