Interesting - I actually just read in one of the bridal mags that sending invites out too early is why many brides have to chase after people for a response. The person gets the invite, sees they have so long to respond and just set it aside and forget about it. They were recommending the 6 to 8 week timeframe to ensure less chasing after people! Just a thought.
Even if you have a 6 to 8 week time frame, many people end up chasing guests. I have heard that many times on this site.

Very true!! We sent ours out exactly 8 weeks before the wedding and I can't tell you how many guests had to be chased down for responses.

you know, I found something in my mail that sounds STRIKINGLY similar!
Girls, Christine's invite is UNBELIEVABLE...the time and effort it must of put into it is staggering paper mounted on paper, the style, the direction cards...very nice Italian paper (guessing here!) just STUNNING....
Congrats on a wonderful DIY job..no one would EVER believe you did them yourself!!
