Last night my FI and I went out I drank alittle too much and jammed my finger so I took my ring off in a cab leaving where we went in Brooklyn, I noticed when I got home that I didnt have mt ring! I am heart broken I have never felt this way in my life. My FI does not want to speak to me I feel like this is a nightmare but it isnt! Has this ever happened to anyone> And we didnt get it insured yet! What can I do to make this up to FI. I think he is going to end up calling off the wedding.

first off, it is only a ring and its not like you did it on purpose. while it may be a $$ loss, once your fh cools down, he will realize that it is not about a ring but more about your relationship and all the times you have shared together. have you tried to call the cab company?? if you are not sure 100% you lost in the cab, also try calling the bar - a firend of mine lost hers in a bar and at the end of the night they foudn it so when she called, she was able to get it back!

Good luck, my heart goes out to you. I couldn't imagine what I would do if that happened to me. I would try calling the bar and cab company also.

Unless you have a honest cabbie, I am sure you will not find it. I am so sorry this happened. I hope everything goes well between you and your FI. I don't think things are that bad that he would call off the wedding. Rings can be replaced a good relationship cannot. How did it get off your finger???

I am heartbroken! All I do is cry and not having my FI here to hug me and make it better is even worse! He wont answer my calls! The thing is that we havent gone out with friends in so long because we are saving $$ and last night we didnt even want to go but decides we would. We went to some horrible place in Brooklyn called Legacy. I dont know what cab company we took we just got one down the block

I am VERY sorry to hear that - First call the cab company and offer a reward, then call the bar and see if someone found it.
Look all over the floor of your home. It could have fallen off the table when you got home.
Then worst case senario - check with your insurance - mine for example covers mysterious disappearance they would be able to replace your ring (not what you want to hear now).
I'm sure your FH will cool down soon and will understand it was an accident

I think your FI is a jerk if he ends up calling off the wedding because of this. You didn't do it on purpose. An engagement ring is replaceable, you on the other hand, are not. Hopefully he calms down. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Pray very hard to St. Anthony. He often helps. But remember that even if you never find the ring, it's only a thing, an object. Your FH will cool off in time & if he doesn't, it will be a warning to you about what you can expect in the future. Don't worry about replacing the ring with a real diamond either. I'm a lot older than you I'm sure. I own lots of real diamonds. I'd never do it again. Get diamonique.

I feel so bad for you I really hope that you do find it. Let FH cool off for a while and I'm sure he'll come to realize that you really can't put a price tag on the love you share for each other. Call as many cab companies you can and the bar definatly offer a reward to them. You never know there are more honest people out there than you think.

Tess - sounds like you took a car service near Legacy. Hopefully, you can call them and see if they found it. If not, ask them to check the next few addresses that they went to after they dropped you off... it's worth a shot. I'm sorry and I hope you get the ring back!

I would do as the other girls said, call the bar and cab company but,JMO, and i am sorry if this is harsh sounding but if he is going to to call off teh wedding b/c of this that is CRAZY!! It's not like you did it on purpose so why would he to call off a wedding b/c of it? i can totally understand you being devastated and him being upset about it too but to blame you is RIDICULOUS!!! Best of luck to you and I do hope you find it and you FH realizes that he is overreactiing!!!!

maybe calling legacy could still help - they might know the names of some of the cab co's that hang out around there on weekends and could give you the #'s to them - most bars have a few they use so it may be a company they know....

Oh no!!! I am so sorry...although you think it may not help...call Legacy and explain what happened. Ask them what cabs hang outside their club...they may know and call them...it won't hurt to try and call.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you...I hope you find it!!!!!!
