ugh i remember getting laid off right before i was moving out of my apartment. i only got 7 weeks severence pay but it was nice to be home! LOL

One of the girls was looking for someone to do medical billing on here. maybe she can help.

Sorry to hear that. Im in the same boat except I had to quit. We cant panic though. Things will work out for the better.

So sorry to hear that. I'm glad they are giving severence and paying COBRA. You will find something. Don't stress too hard. You should try and take a few weeks and then start looking to clear your head if you can.

My company laid off 300 people today and I was one of them. I'm so depressed b/c my wedding is in 5 months. The only good thing is that they are giving me 5 mths severence and paying my cobra until April 1st, plus a portion of my bonus. If ANYONE is a headhunter or knows of someone looking to hire let me know! I'll do anything at this point!

I am so sorry..it happened to me twice...once the day after I signed a lease for my new apartment and the second time two weeks before my friends weddign that I was the MOH in....but honestly, it was the best thing that ever happened. Everything happens for a reason...you will find something better and for more money!

Oh wow, bad timing - yet sometimes I wish I could collect while looking and getting severence is even better.

Dying to know where you work. Is it on LI or NYC. Who is doing a major layoff right now? Eek!

I'm sure you'll find something soon, but enjoy sleeping in late and planning your wedding while being paid for it!

This morning wasn't so bad. I took an 8:30 spin class and I'm going to try to catch up on laundry.

I'm so sorry My sister was laid off a few months ago and recently started working for an amazing company. She didn't believe it when everyone told her it was a blessing in disguise but it truly was. BTW--the company she worked for that laid her off does not exist any longer. When companies lay off a large # of people, it is never a good thing. So basically, you got off a sinking ship, and got paid for it! It will all work itself out

I was just laid off 2 weeks ago, with no severance and no Cobra (I can't afford it) and have no money coming in until my first unemployment check which is a joke. But I'm thinking positive and praying I find a job soon.
