Todays music is nothing compared to 80's freestyle....

Thats so true!! FH couldn't stand this type music, so we don't have this in common. I am thinking of buying a few c.d's for him and he will like it soon enough. I bring all my c.d.'s to the gym, that is my motivation!!!

Holy C(*P, you guys are taking me back to the good old days, reminiscing about these songs! Love them, still do!!

Diamond Girl was prob one of my faves.. all the guidos used to sing it to us 'guidettes' ( yes, I was a guidette , big time .. and proud of it!!!)

I miss those days sometimes ... [sigh]

I didn't grow up in LI, I was from the Bronx border, in Yonkers ... freestyle was ALL you listened to while in your BF's IROC (that was my dream car back in the day .. next to the Cadillac Eldorado or Monte Carlo )

How about 'This is Acid'....It was the first tape I ever bought.

WHen I was younger, there was a guy that hung out at a deli in valleystream that my friends parents used to own....His name was Joey...and he had a White Riv with a White fake convertible top on it....Tinted Windows, and a sticker on the back window that had the NYC skyline on it. He had the disco ball hanging from his rear view mirror and Big Wired wheels. He always had the loud freestyle music cranking....ever since I saw his car, I wanted to get a Riv, or a Eldo Biarritz....I never got one though....My dad wouldnt let me when I was younger. He said the car was too big for me....That is when he bought me the mustang.....I never got my riv or eldo.....

omg---my FH LOVES freestyle. i wasn't into it, but when I met him he got me into it! LOL He met Judy Torres back in the day and Cynthia took him on stage with her and sang to him! Yeah, I still hear about that to this day! LOL We went to KTU Beatstock a couple of years ago and saw all the freestyle performers--it was so cool! I love Dream Boy/ Dream Girl--I think I was in 6th grade when that song came out! LOL

OMG!

What memories! We went to ktu's beatstock like 2 years ago and it was so funny..in the beginning they had all the new artists come out and all the 'kids' were going wild..but then they brought out all the ORIGINALS and thats when you saw who was the older crowd..the kids just sat there...I LOVED IT! Sooooooo much fun!!!!!!!

Brings back all of my Astoria Park memories...any astoria girls out there know what I am talking about! LOL
