I'm so psyched...great work news today!
So, I work in an independent school as a music teacher and I do it because I love it, definitely not for the the money. I took a HUGE pay cut to work in this school, and I mean gigantic, but I love it so much I work two jobs to make up the difference. So today we had a faculty meeting so the head of the board of trustees could tell us that an endowment has been set up to bring our salaries up over the next three years to be competitive with the public school salaries! I'm so excited! WOOHOO! I guess they are starting to realize that all of the teachers are looking to leave because the pay is so low.And then, to make it even better, they are building a new auditorium! YAY! So I'll FINALLY have a stage for my kids to do their performances on! Right now they stand on these nasty ply-wood boxes. Bleh! But I just wanted to share the good news because I'm so psyched!

That is awesome!! Congratulations! I too work @ my job cuz I love it, definitley not for the money. I'm hoping and praying one day, a miracle will happen and we will get paid more. We work as hard as public school teachers do as well.
