Trinity Church is gorgeous but I have no idea what the deal to be married there is.There is also 'Old' St. Patricks someplace downtown.

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
Isn't Trinity Church St. Paul's church? I'm soo confused.. I went to a site that was supposed to be trinity but all I got was St. Paul's
I feel that it will be easier for my guests/family if we have the rehearsal dinner/ceremony in the city, rather than Brooklyn...and especially for what they are charging for a night!!

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
Trinity and St. Pauls are not the same. Trinity is located on Broadway near Wall Street. I think St Pauls is now closed for renovations.Just a word of warning: Manhattan churches are MUCH more expensive and demanding than the Brooklyn churches.

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
really? hmmm...The only choice I have is St. Patrick's in midtown, but that's only cause FH's family has a pew there... but I didn't want to go so far uptown, you know? this stinks..Why is it that everytime I do a search for Trinity I get St. Paul's?? The St. Paul's I know is Episcopal and that's where I did volunteer work this past year....
I'll have to look into it..How demanding are they exactly?? Are you having you ceremony in NYC?

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
Every church charges differently but most of the Manhattan churches wanted about $1K just for the ceremony - not including the cost of the organist, singers, clean up, etc...The churchs in Park Slope wanted about $400 for everything.
This is Trinity Church
This is St Pauls
It seems that they are associated in some way but Im not sure how but they are definitely SEPERATE places. Call to talk to someoen about getting married.
There is another St. Pats in NY (besides the midtown one). So you may want to call them also.
Im getting married at a very small church in midtown - St. Malachys.

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
I think that Trinity and St. Paul are both Episcopal Churches. I also believe that St. Paul is open again for services. What part of lower Manhattan do you have in mind?
The Old St. Patrick's is in Little Italy, on Mulberry Street.
St. Peter RC church is on the corner of Barclay and Church Street.
Does this help??

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
I'm having my reception in Brooklyn.. but being that there are hardly any hotels and that a good number of people will either be from out of town, or staying over anyway (mind you I have a total of 24 in the bridal party) so we need somewhere where we can have the rehearsal dinner friday night, and then the ceremony the day after.. I need something that is centrally located.. you know? did I make sense? lol

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
Oppss...I thought Trinity was Roman Catholic because I was under the impression that the 'holy trinity' was something only the catholics seemed to profess about. My mistake.Marcella - you may want to reconsider leaving both your ceremony in Brooklyn. Park Slope is really easy to get to by train. The churchs I recommended to you are all easy to get to so will be a reasonable trip for you guests for both rehearsal and ceremony. And Park Slope has some amazing restaurants too. Even though it will mean an extra trip on the train for your bridal party - I think it might save you a lot of aggravation on the wedding day.
My FH wanted to have the ceremony in Brooklyn with our reception in Manhattan. The thought of getting everyone from place to place made me naseauted.

Sonicstef is right. I just went over to Trinity and it is Episcopal. The # for anyone who wants it is 212-602-0872.

Re: I need a R.C. church in Lower Manhattan..
Hi again,I agree with Stef. Getting everyone into and out of Manhattan can be challenging. Park Slope is such a nice neighborhood...why not have your ceremony somewhere closer to your reception hall. You'll spend a lot less time travelling, and a lot more time having fun
Go to www.dioceseofbrooklyn.org for a list of all the churches in the diocese. You can search by borough or by neighborhood. I lived in Park Slope a few years ago, and remember a couple of churches in the immediate area.
Good luck!!
