Brideinapril-I guess the pictures depend on the photographer...I know my FBIL used Big John & their pictures were amazing...His SIL used Anthony & she complained too...That is why we picked John

I wanted the owner - because I heard he is really the only one to go to. I was very disappointed in them - I don't want to get into details - I'm not going to bad mouth them on a public site!

I am sorry you aren't happy...I would try to talk to them first & see what happens...Tell them you are going elsewhere & see what they say...Did you book a specific photographer??

It doesnt sound fishy, it sounds like they are covering their a now and hoping they can get away with it. I would argue it or get your deposit back and go somewhere else.

I know saving tax sounds great, but where ever possible, pay a vendor with CC. You never know (i speak from experience) when a vendor doesn't honor something in a contract. If you pay cash, it's gone, if you pay credit card, you can always dispute it. Hopefully you won't have to deal with that, but just wanted to give you a heads up!

this is a good point..It saved my FBIL with limos...He booked a company back in 03 that was known for taking your money & then not showing up...Well we found out 3 months prior to the wedding & he was able to save his deposit & all charges he made to that company...Good advice

I would tell the owner that you aren't happy and are thinking of going somewhere else. There seems to be a little drama with them--at least in your situation. It doesnt' seem right that they are making rules and then changing them. JMO
