You definitely do not have to include her. Don't include her because you feel like you have to. It's a small bridal party, so I think she will eventually realize that and get over it. I actually had to tell my girlfriends that I would love to have them in the bridal party, but I am keeping it small and I still consider them a part of my special day, even if they are not wearing matching dresses.
I wouldnt include her, especially if your fh doesnt care. Just talk to her and explain that there were close people in ur life that u didnt put in ur party and u didnt want to step on anyones toes. A white lie never hurt anyone
Right after I got engaged two of my friends decided for themselves that they are in my wedding. I still haven't asked anyone officially, but I'm torn if I should include these two friends. We are close but I already have my sister, two FSIL and two of my best friends who I have known since I was little. Its tough because you never want to hurt feelings. In your case its FH's friend and if he doesn't care don't put her in. She will get over it.
