I would just say that Leonard's and Floral Terrace do not fit with the rest of the places you are looking at. No offense to those of you having your weddings there, they are beautiful places, but as far as price range goes, those don't fit with the rest.
I disagree. We were quoted the same prices at Chateau Briand, Crest Hollow, and Floral Terrace. The only other place on the list we checked out was Russo's, and it was more by about 30-40/pp. I can not speak for the rest.

Re: I've narrowed my halls down from 23 to 8. What are your thoughts?
I would recommend Russo's and Villa Lombardi.....for their impeccable service and food.I cannot speak for the others except for Crest Hollow - I had my prom their years ago....it was also nice for what i remember.
Villa Lombardi is excellent, only downfall might be that it is far out in Long Island and may not be as convenient for you and your guests as the other halls.
If you would like more info on Russo's, feel free to FM Me!
Good luck on your pick! Im sure your wedding will be beautiful.

I agree. Russo's and Villa would be my first pick in the list. My cousin got married at Russon and it was fabulous. My friend at Villas at is was wonderful as well. I saw Giorgios on the list I visited them but felt it was too far but loved the place. My friends' son got married there and raved about it...her 2 sons got married at Villa's and she said this was even better. Good luck!!!!!!!

Re: I've narrowed my halls down from 23 to 8. What are your thoughts?
My cousin got married at Crest Hollow and -everything was so nice..the place is beautiful and the food (esp at CH) was amazing. She was extremely happy w/ their customer service and had no complaints at all.
Villa Lombardi-I have also heard great things about their food and I love how it looks outside.
Russos- never been there but have heard its beautiful and the food is great.
If I had to pick I would probably go with Crest Hollow.

Re: I've narrowed my halls down from 23 to 8. What are your thoughts?
I wasn't going to reply at first, because you have had a lot of opinions here. But my advice is check it out for yourself, every bride has there own style and taste and so many people go on hearsay.Given that when we initially went to look at places, I visited at least 20! Leonard's wasn't even on my list at first and they were the last place we visited. The decor was more elaborate then we originally wanted and I was concerned about the factory feel. However, the staff we worked with was wonderful and made me feel at ease. It never had that factory feel on my wedding day, there were no problems with the valet (they staggered everything very well), we didn't even see or hear another wedding until we were leaving for the night and I saw another party as I was coming down the stairs.
As for the price, it is a RANGE. It depends what month, what night, and what you want. People are under the impression that certain halls are 'cheaper' or 'inexpensive', but the reality is they are flexible and make it affordable for many. I don't think price makes one better then the other, we spent more per person at Leonard's then brides we know at the Watermill, CHC, Millridge, etc. But that was our choice. We chose Leonard's because of their service and the fact they treated us like family.
I have been to weddings at many of the other venues on your list and on LI, all have pros and cons. In fact, at CHC was the one place we constantly ran into other parties and heard them all night. It totally turned me off from having my own there, even though that is where my hubby originally wanted.
To this day we still get so many compliments on how beautiful our wedding was, how good the food was, and how much fun everyone had.
So like I originally stated: go see for yourself! No matter what, I am sure you will be very happy and have a beautiful wedding!

Re: I've narrowed my halls down from 23 to 8. What are your thoughts?
Giorgio's Giorgio's Giorgio's!!! I'm obviously biased, but I did visit at least 15 places.Giorgio's is east of Riverhead, not more than 10 minutes from Eastwind Caterers (many people think they are much further away). They have agreements with hotels to provide shuttle service. The place is breathtaking!Huge chandliers, one wedding at a time, wrap around porch accessible all throughout your wedding (right outside your CH and reception room), golfcourse for pictures, garden for ceremony and pictures, the beach. It seriously has it all. George Jr. is wonderful to work with and its family run, so they do a wonderful job. The food is great and the service is wonderful.
It's seriously a hidden Jem! FM me if you want any info. I think I got a great deal there and I couldn't be happier!

Re: I've narrowed my halls down from 23 to 8. What are your thoughts?
I got married at Crest Hollow and couldn't be happier. I too was worried it was a wedding factory but I had my entire party (ceremony, cocktail hr and reception) on the second floor and never once did we bump into other people. Maybe if you are using the bathroom downstairs but how many times during a party do you use the bathroom - once or twice? The customer service was wonderful, the food was great and the room was beautiful.

Re: I've narrowed my halls down from 23 to 8. What are your thoughts?
I'm getting married at Crest Hollow so I'm biased. A friend of mine got married there and I fell in love with the place. The grounds are beautiful and the food was fantastic. They have more than one wedding at a time but the weddings are staggard. Good luck on your search!

Re: I've narrowed my halls down from 23 to 8. What are your thoughts?
1)Russo's on the Bay2)Villa Lombardi's
3)Floral Terrace
6)Chaetau Briand
We visited the above halls from your list. I think they are all very different so it really depends on your taste.
FI thought Russos was too hollywood witht he elevator or moving stairs entrance and I did not like that it's all indoor. However, the place is beautiful. Lots of marble & granite. It has a homey feel - like my Italian's friend's home in LI with the cloth hand towels in the bathrooms. Service seemed excellent when we visited on Labor Day this year. It was busy - 2 wedding receptions going on at once. I saw both brides (one in the bathroom though).
We like Villa Lombardi's for the price and minimum plus the grounds are pretty for pics. I a not into the garden theme room though. they offer a ton of food too.
Floral terrace has a great ballroom but no outdoor area for pics or cocktail. One wedding at a time place.
We thought Chateau Briand was too art deco and they were renovating it that weekend to make it even more art deco.

Thanks Ladies for your help. I appreciate all your comments good and bad. I can't wait to start looking. Do you ladies think the June is a popular month with every hall? Probably.

Yes! That's one of the busiest months. I've always heard that May through September are the peak wedding months.
