I want EVERYONE to read this...

Original post by SeptBride70

This is very important and I want everyone (people who belong to this site and those that DO NOT) to read this...

When I come on here and post, like many others do, it is about everyday things... like my boss who is such a great guy, my co-worker (who I like most of the time) but can say hurtful things, my MIL (who again, is great) but she, and she admits it, can be tuff to deal with from time to time. I complain about traffic like most do, I don't always love my job like most do, I go out once in a blue moon and drink too much like most do, etc. I am, on most levels, just like everyone else. Am I perfect? Absolutely NOT! Then, I do have some great things that I come on here to gab about: my friends, my DH (Vinny) who is the best person I know, the new Coach bag I just bought, the person who let me cut in the line at the bakery so I would not be late for an appt., etc. But what just happened to be about an hour ago is seriously the last straw.

It's the last straw on many levels. I have family members- some I am close with, some I am not. I have never been close with my cousins and I thought that was because of our large age difference (about 10 or so years- they are older, I'm younger). But I'm starting to realize that the differences run a lot deeper than that. I tried, in some ways, to be close with them- The other night I went to the Horse and Jockey in Smithtown (I invited a few of you guys along from here but it was very late notice)... Vinny and I were talking with my cousin, her DH, my other cousin's BF, their friends, etc. I had my usual four or so glasses of wine over the course of the night which gets me very tipsy (lol, I know I'm gay and have no tolerance)... I think that is also b/c I 'go out and drink' maybe once every 8 months LOL (again, pathetic but that's the life of a typical married person).

We went, I talked to my cousin for more than 10 minutes for probably the first time in my life... We talked a while- and about personal things like stuff that my sister is going through, things about our family, etc. It was actually nice and I, after the wine haha, told her what I told you guys on here (b/c you guys don't know my family and I consider many of you to be friends) about Vin and I running off like typical young people in love and getting married-- I mean, we are getting married in nine months anyway so what's the difference? (So I thought) But either way, I told her- she acted very happy, said congrats, couldn't believe it, was in shock like most everyone else, etc. I asked her not to tell my Mom and our family (my Aunt, etc) because my intention was never to upset anyone or cause a big uproar... but just to actually SHARE something with my cousin for the first time in my life (again, we were not close growing up). So, I thought- maybe we'll now be close as we get older? I though that would be have been nice... and I came home that night, drunkity-drunk lol, but happy deep down b/c I felt closer to them and that made me feel good. Vinny had a great time- we told his Mom the next day that we had a lot of fun! His Mom was happy, knowing that I was never close with my cousins, and told me that maybe things were changing and that this was a good thing! So I thought...

Well, she told her friend, her DH, her sister (my other cousin), my cousin's BF, etc etc etc (not a problem YET)- then, they told my Aunt, they told my Mom- everyone knows. Am I upset? Ehh, not really that people know- I love Vinny to pieces and would want the WORLD to know about us- but upset that they lied to me and betrayed me? Yeah. Hurt? Yes, I am hurt more than upset. Am I surprised and shocked? No. I'm just realizing what I always knew deep down. Again, I'm not perfect but I don't try to intentionally hurt people either...

I don't know WHY ON EARTH they would want to go against what I simply asked of them, I don't know why they pretended to be happy for me and say how cute it was and then did what they did, I don't know why they would want to tell my Mom which they know is going to upset and hurt her- I don't understand ANY of these things. Why would they want to hurt the relationship I have with my Mom- why hurt my sister??

That brings me to why I'm posting- the only reason that I am posting this and not keeping it to myself-- I mean, girls, I'm the first to admit that I share A LOT on here but there are TONS of things that I do not and will not share-- this would have been one of them but because I know that someone in my cousin's cirlce is a lurker on here and reads things that I post- THAT is why I am posting this because I know that they are going to either read this or hear about it from this person that lurks and then tells them what I write. Not that I'm saying I would care if they found out about the stuff I post everyday- I'm not dumb, I know things can get out- do I care? Not really b/c ANYTHING I write on here I will say directly to ANYONE'S face... I am not the type to write and then be shocked when someone reads it... I'm shocked that this person read it and chose to go spreading it, TWISTING what I wrote when they don't know me from a hole in the wall and USE what I wrote to manipulate and hurt people- myself and my family included.

You know who you are and now I know who you are and what you did to me. Let's just say- I'm not surprised and I am deeply offended. It is something I will never forget.

To my girls on here- you guys are such nice people. I'm so glad I came on here and I don't regret a thing I have said no matter what because I love Vinny, I love this site, I love the people on it, the people that run it- SO many of you are my personal friends who will be at my wedding, who I hang out with REGUARLY, who are REAL people... this is not just another blog. You guys are great, you keep it real, you are LOYAL and have good hearts... You are always there for me when I need you and I am closer with all of you then I will, unfortunately, ever be with my cousins (and their cousins, friends, etc). The sad part is- I feel closer to some strangers then I do to some of my family members. But, a very smart person once said- you can CHOOSE your friends, you can't choose your family.

My point to the girls who are on here: post and use this site in the right way and not to hurt others and spread/cause problems: BE CAREFUL what you write on here- if you are like me who really doesn't care one way or another (aside from being betrayed, saddened and hurt) then post away. But do know, that people are lurking- there are people who can hate on you b/c they are jealous- maybe it's b/c you have things they will never have. Maybe they are just miserable people with no self worth? Who knows but there are people who will use things on here to manipulate and hurt you... So, just be careful. But don't let anyone stop you from doing what you want to do and be strong!

This has been a long time in the making- my whole life I knew the things that I now know about my cousins but unfortunately this happened the way it did-- I knew what I knew always in my heart but now my heart hurts b/c I don't understand how people can be FAMILY, pretend to be nice to your face, talk to you/listen to you, etc and then go and do what they do (talk behind your back, say things, be hurtful, try and cause problems, etc)... to family? What have I ever done to you? I don't get it but like my MIL, who is very hurt by this, said- 'sweetie, take it from where it comes'.

I'm lucky to have you girls and I'm lucky to have Vinny and his family- b/c they are my family now, they are the ones who truly care... (along with the ones in my family that are wonderful, loving relatives).

Thank you so much for reading.

'In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.' -Thomas Jefferson

'No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.' E. Roosevelt

Please, no bashing of them ladies. I just want support and if you are going to write how you feel I welcome it but try to do what I did: even though I'm angry, write w/o getting all worked up and letting it come out in the wrong way. I am strong, they did not bring me down or make me feel bad about myself- they just made me realize what I always knew deep down. I have to deal with this from now on- and I will. I know they will see this, I plan on writing them myself privately and will have no problem saying how what they did to me made me feel to their faces.

Re: I want EVERYONE to read this...

Dani..
love ya girl!! Like Nicole said.. the most important thing to remember is that you are waking up next to Vinny every morning! You are one of the strongest woman I know. It takes a REAL WOMAN to spill her heart out the way you did!! You are a wonderful person inside and out! Vinny is just amazing!! The two of you have a bond that no one can break or no one can take away!! Take what happened as a lesson learned and move on in happiness and enjoy your life! Everyone has family members that 'just aren't good people'! That's why there are friends.. real friends that will tell you like it is and NOT behind your back. It's a real shame that some people just can't trust their own family sometimes. It's a hard thing to swallow.. but I know you can! You know many of us are here for you and if you need to talk we're here!
And to the little sneaky lurker.. get a life already and stop TRYING to mess up people's lives.. karma is a terrible thing!!!

Danielle,
I wish you and DH the best! You've had such a hard time lately and it's just terrible! I'm glad that you are strong- keep it up, girl! Don't let them bring you down!

Thank you so much for realizing that...

You are right- it has been SO hard lately- but, when it rains, it pours and I can always say I have been through worse so whatever comes my way is no biggie!

I try to be strong

Aww hunny...i am so sorry that this happened to you Even more, I'm sorry that you let your guard down and openned up to your cousin in hopes of a better relationship only to have this happen

:

YEP

That is the worst part about it.

I could have opened up and told them about my secret love for cheeseburgers-- it doesn't make a damn difference- it is WHAT they did and HOW they did it that hurt SO bad...

Danielle, you know you have 2 giant admirers and supporters over here....the bottom line is that YOU wake up every morning next to the love of your life. Its such a shame that because other people can't find the happiness that you have, they have to go around trying to ruin things.

Keep your gorgeous chin up

Pefectly Said! I am sorry you are going though this Danielle ~ Some people are evil! The sad part is your cousins & your cousins friend are missing out & will now miss out on a friendship that could have been...(I might not have met you in person ~ but you are one of my LIW favorites and I can tell you are a beautiful person) Noone should have done this to you... if you confide in someone they should be blessed & honored that you included them in your secret especially with something that was so special and personal between you and Vinny & this person should have honored your request!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Just remember 'what comes around goes around'

If you are the one doing something bad, you should be warned that what goes around (the thing you are doing to others) comes around (sooner or later, you'll get yours).

On the other hand, if something bad is happening to you, you can feel better knowing that what comes around (your troubles), goes around (the person responsible for your trouble will soon get theirs)

Dani,

After reading your post- I admire you so much for your incredible strength and composure -I have admired your strength before on the boards with all you have been through and have experienced. Whatever doesn't kill ya makes you stronger and I believe this is one of those situations. From your posts I can sense that you are not only a strong individual, but also a caring and compassionate person. This other person took advantage of that and I feel for you so much.

You know who loves you and cares about you! More now than ever.

Thank you so much- That was SO touching.

It is amazing to me that you, and others on here, see that (what you wrote above) when you read my posts. I mean, all kidding aside when I joke around and stuff, but the serious things- you see all of that. Yet, the 'lurker' in their circle told my Aunt that she thought I was completely 'irrational' and 'out of control' over things so ridiculous and petty as complaining about a co-worker.

i mean, how crazy is that? how many times have we all complained about mondane things?? and she calls up my aunt and/or tells my cousins that she feels i'm 'acting out of control' and uses the word 'irrational'... c'mon, get a life.

that is what really hurt- b/c the funniest part is- YOU and everyone else sees what you wrote above from my posts and she (who doesn't know me from a hole in the wall) sees what she stated. it's amazing!

i mean really, who does that girl think she is?! how do you think you know someone from typing on a blog lol about normal daily stresses!

These are for you...

The lurker.. whoever you may be.. You are a gigantic @$$HOLE!!! You read that right..

Danielle is a great girl, she's so sweet and so special.. and You... the lurker, and you know who you are.. are dispicable.. I hope when you look in the mirror every day, you see exactly what you are.. a pathetic loser..

Danielle..

Wow Dayna- you keep it real

You rock! That's the thing: I wish my family and their 'circle' which is where the lurker came from really knew what a great person I am. If they would take five seconds to stop judging people and putting them down and actually LOOK at someone in a real way- they would understand. If they took just five minutes to talk to me like a human being they would understand. And it's like I wonder if they think 'why didn't Danielle ask me to be in her wedding party yet she asked friends she has known such a short time?' duh!!

Thanks sweetie!

omg!! i am sooooo angry they did that do you! You tried to be an adult and share...and they ruined it.

ugh---well at least you know what you have together, and that's all that matters!! i'm so sorry that they had to do that to you.

I <3 you my Peruvian BFF!

You really are the best- and there for me like nobody's business when I need someone! Loves me some Melissa

Dani, that really *****, what are people thinking. That is truly messed up. You know now that you can not trust them and that stinks, but you now where you stand. I think your cousin has some nerve, probably jealous. Jealous about how happy you and Vinny are. I am truly sorry that you have to deal with this.

Re: I want EVERYONE to read this...

Chrissy!! How awesome are you??

SO supportive and say things straight up!

To think that I'm going to have SO many of you- SO many of my friends- there for me at my wedding is the best feeling!

And you are right about the 'heart spilling' thing lol it takes a lot of courage to do something like that and I would rather be the one that wears their heart on their sleeve (and occasionally gets screwed over) then be the one who is cold and keeps everything inside.

My MIL said that jealousy and envy can really ruin people and their happiness. She told me, after tonight, that a lot of people don't realize one thing: there will ALWAYS be someone that has more than you. There will always be someone with a better life, more money, nicer car, etc. But what a lot of people fail to realize is that regardless of what you have- if you are not happy with yourself and your place in this world- you are going to be miserable. And if you focus on others you will always be a step behind wallowing in other people's good fortune while your life passes you by day by day...

I'm 22 years old and I know this- I'm pretty young to have learned that but I know it- I knew it the moment I met Vinny... all the other crap didn't matter anymore because I have the most fulfilling feeling in the world and that is his love. But, in order to get that I had to love myself first- and I did. When someone else gets something or achieves something I'm happy for them- I don't understand people's fascination with what OTHERS have...

Nina Bella,

I had the same reaction- only with playing the scenario over in my head- I kept saying, did this really happen? How did I let myself get stabbed in the back and screwed over?

But you know what? That's what happens when you wear your heart on your sleeve and you try TOO hard with people that don't give a damn! They wouldn't care if I was alive or dead Sad but true.

A person I look up to a lot recently told me that I need to start carrying red ribbon with me at ALL times- something I had never heard of before- she explained why and I thought to myself, could that be? And the more I think about why she told me to start doing this- the more I think she is right on! I'm putting the red ribbon in my pocket and my bag tomorrow!!!

Dani, I am posting kind of late tonite and seeing all of these posts to you should help keep you strong. You may not have the support of your (ahem) cousins and they may have betrayed you, but the bottom line is, you are happy and they are not. As for their lurking friends, well, they obviously do not have lives of their own so they need to read about ours.
Stay strong!!! Your wedding is going to be the best day of your life and no one can take that day away from you!

Re: I want EVERYONE to read this...

Oh Dani girl,

I feel like nothing I write could ever make sense or do you justice.

You are one of the best writers, one of the best advice givers, one of the most eloquent speakers this site has.

Listen...after rereading(had to do it a couple times, have had 2 1/2 glasses of chianti ) This is all I can say.

There are some people in this world that take pleasure off of raining on other peoples parades.

Why? Because their life(lives) are so boring and pathetic they must do this to others.

You know what Dani, What you do in this life comes back ten fold. Let these people do their thing, karma is not friendly.

This was a minor bump in the road. Minor, compared to the other major things we have to come in this life. We take this as a lesson learned.

You are an amazing, accomplished, happy, and succesful woman. And to make it better, you have a man of equal yoke, equal integrity, to accompany life with you. And God Bless it, because you both deserve it.

So...I heart you.
Chin up girl, this is nothing, and the 'lurker'..whoever you are, yours is coming, meanie.

I love ya dani, I'm always here for ya.

Your life will be amazing, Because your beautiful. You're honest. You're down to earth. You're good people Dani.

Not everyone is like you. We just can't trust everyone...not even family sometimes.

Enjoy this time, don't let anyone ruin it for you and Vin. You're a power couple. Its the future Governor and First Lady of NY by God!!!

Love ya girl
