I was talking to a friend re: church cost,

and I realized that my church is EXPENSIVE!

I'm paying $760 - incl. pre-cana (not the weekend one though)

Hers was $300!

Is my church expensive, or is hers just really cheap?

eta: this is my home parish since birth! Fh and I both received all of our sacraments there.

We're paying just about the same amt. I think it really depends on the church!

I think your friends is just really cheap, mine is around your price.

$500 - church, includes organist & singer
$175 - pre cana
$675 total

Yeah....$700 for the church. Not including the rehearsal, pre cana...any of that

Ahh...but I think its worth it..I adore my church!

I must be getting married at St patricks cathedrial & not know it then , cuz my church is $700,, Then I still have to pay pre cana, organist , & harp lady ,, ,,

my church is 550 but since my dad and family went there for school....im hoping they give us the lower rate think its 375!

we are doing precana and foccus here in NC
and thats 100$

what is pre cana?

the counseling classes you go to usually with a priest or church representative....needed for marriage in catholic church.

Mine is $650 plus $50 for pre-cana/focus.

It is so funny you posted this because my friend from work said her church is only 300 today and I nearly fell over. When we talked a bit she said that is the 'Church' fee, she also has to pay the music director $100 and the singer $100 and the organist $100 so we are only $50 bucks different.

Some Churches break it down differently to make you feel better.
