Congrats!! That is so special and to have the church there to witness it makes it so much more special.

Brooklynbride probably had a shorter program because she was just getting confirmed, and from what I can see was already baptized and had Holy Communion.
The year long RCIA program takes months because MOST people in that program have NO sacraments (were never baptized or had communion). People that go through that program receive all THREE sacraments at the Easter Vigil.

The reason I ask is b/c FH has not done any of them and we still can get married in the catholic church. I was wondering if your church is making you? Thanks.
you can do it because presumably YOU were baptized and had other sacraments in the church. at least one spouse has to be a baptized Catholic to have a ceremony or Mass. If the other sppouse has not been baptized, you must either do RCIA or you are an inter-faith marriage and a dispensation is filled out for that. you only have a Mass if both spouses are Catholic.
