...not talking ridiculously celebrity wealthy...but more than comfortable. Able to afford nice clothes, great car, beautiful house, etc....
....where would your priorities lie? Do you think your life would change significantly from the way it is now? What would you spend your money on?
I don't think I would seriously change much. I just went window shopping on my lunch break and I saw some lovely things that I felt were just too expensive, and it got me thinking if I had the money, would I still pass them up because I didn't think they were worth it? Or would I buy it?

Re: If you and your SO were wealthy...
I would definitely change some things, but I don't think I could ever become truly extravagant. We'd buy a home, a car for me, the furniture I really want (which is not expensive for furniture but more than we want to spend now), maybe get a cleaning lady, and I'd probably spend more on clothing - but I'd never stop shopping at outlets or looking for sales. It's more like now I can have that $100+ piece of clothing not that $1000+ piece of clothing. We'd also travel more and I'd take my grandma with me on vacations because she hasn't really seen much and she worked very hard supporting me so that I could go to a good college and law school, etc. - this is one thing I'm hoping I can one day do anyway. But that's about it. I think everyone has their point at which things become simply ridiculous.

I think my living arrangements would change, but not much else. I might spend like six months a year in Italy but other then that not much

We would definitely buy a house. Talk about having kids since we could afford them. Help out our families...give them money or help them buy houses, I guess. I would definitely contribute to philanthopic causes. Travel...invest wisely so we would NEVER have to work.

Re: If you and your SO were wealthy...
my dream is to have enough $$ so that I can be a stay at home mom.
I dont need anything extra fancy...just enough to live comfotably, maintain our house and put food on our table.
I want so much to be home with James...and possibly have another baby....Monday's are so hard for me....I wish everyday was Saturday, so that I can spend it with my DH and our baby.

I would be a shopping wh-ore. no joke. I hate restraining myself from buying what I want. I know it is selfish, but if $$ was not an object I'd be all over.

Re: If you and your SO were wealthy...
Hmm we would definitely buy a house and sell our condo, and hire people to clean, garden, etc...I would still finish my doctorate but it would be nice not doing it on loans. I would still work, but it would be nice knowing I could have the luxury of staying home with kids if I chose to do so.
I'd buy lots of really expensive makeup to see if it is any better than the not so expensive makeup, go to Frederik Fekkai for my highlights, buy the Seven jeans my best friend swears will make my butt look amazing...Better yet, maybe I would have all my clothes made for me!

I travel as much as I can - though I really can't afford it - so if we had more money we'd probably keep traveling but would stay in nicer places.
FH would spend the money on restaurants and cars - I'm the frugal one.

Buy a bigger and nicer house in a great neighborhood. Have a few vacation homes. One of them on a beach somewhere. Buy a house for my parents and take care of them for the rest of their lives. Buy my friends really nice gifts.
Donate money to charity..many charities.

I think we'd be living the same life we're living now, but maybe we'd have painted/decorated the house and gotten a 2nd newer vehicle.
I might also be only working PT. BUt we'd still be in GA and still having our baby and still have 2 dogs (maybe more!)

Re: If you and your SO were wealthy...
I don't think my mindset would change too much. I would just want to pay off my student loans, get a nice car (not crazy, just one that would last a long time and be nice...something for like $50,000-$60,000) and a nice house. I would still work full time. I would also put some away for our kids college education, that's very important to me. FH I think would buy a lot of stuff, though. I would just like to live comfortably...no worries.

Re: If you and your SO were wealthy...
ok, pay off debt first and formost.
own our own house put money aside for our future. I really wanted to retire at 55 but that doesnt seem possible as in NY I am lower middle class (way low).
If we were comfortable and could afford nice cars and clothes, well Jim would probably have a few more suits but our cars wouldnt change but they'd improve slowly. I'd refurbish my mx and put some work on the 6.
Most likely my little nephew would start to get better clothes again (back when I was single and more funds, he'd get 'gifts' from me) and my little brother's college fund would start to grow again (I used to have an automatic withdraw, just $20-$60 a check going to his fund). I look at our debt and see my brother struggling like I did.
I'd have to be rich rich to change I think. My family comes first and then education then cars then Jim and maybe me. We spoil ourselve with nice things now and I feel like it's pretty stupid since we don't NEED a tv like this and we don't NEED new rims on our car but we get them, slowly.

Re: If you and your SO were wealthy...
I think the fact that I grew up without a lot of money and took care of my stuff (ie: saved money and took care of my car and clothing, etc) I don't think much would change. We would have a house and be able to do more, but we also realize that we really don't need anything. So our priorities would be less on material objects and more on sharing it, I think.
