so DH insurance covers voluntary in vitro

and i called about it since i have problems getting preggers and asked more about what it is exactly and whats the catch ( cause thats pricey)

they said im covered 100% if its needed or not..this woman tells me if i wanted to do it that way SIMPLY by choice ( as if i have no problems getting prgenant)

so me and DH are probably going to do it but heres the kicker..YOU CAN CHOSE THE SEX OF THE BABY

they can single out the sperm and plant it in the egg so you can even decide if you want a boy or girl before its planted in your uterus

were thinking of doing this because of our fear of having a girl

wanted to what you girls would do if you could choose

I would ABSOLUTELY have a girl.

I heard quotes about $20K for sex selection...

it was DH insurance company..they pay fr it and gave me the info..and then i called my gyno and she said that if we wanted to we could..and its 100% covered

TOTALLY WOULD HAVE A BOY FIRST!!! I think FH would be so upset if he had a girl first...every time we talk about kids he's always like 'He' or 'My son' bla bla bla....me- i don't care so much. The only reason I would want a boy first is so he could beat the crap out of the boys that try to screw with my daughter

Everytime I talk about when we have a baby, the word 'he' always comes out of my mouth. I don't have a preference though. Maybe you shouldn't mess with mother nature by choosing the sex. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to have twins...one of each. I know a lot of women who have had trouble and got help......TWINS was the result!!!

hmmmm what if you had multiples? like twins, and you picked the sex, would they both be boys if thats what you picked? maybe you can choose both and have twins

Thats a tough one but thats awesome that you get to choose. I want a girl because im very girly and I would want to do girly stuff for my daughter but I would also want a boy because FH wants one more than anything.

i dont think i would choose, i think nature should just do the choosing. i hate messing with what is natural

Im not against invitro though, for woman who cant get preggers naturally

I wouldn't choose...I feel like this is a spontaneous act...if you couldn't conceive and were going to have in vetro..that's awesome that there is something that can help. However, I don't feel like I could ever choose the sex of my child. That's JMO!1

Hmmm I didnt think this was legal yet either. OR if it is....its very pricey $20K and up!

Either way I wouldnt do it....just not natural!

That's great that it's covered by your insurance..I hear of couples spending lots of $$.

I also understand why this option is a great option for you considering the history of women on DH's side.

If I had the choice I would not choose with the first one. I would just get what I get. I only want two children, so I would choose for the 2nd one so I can have both a boy and girl.
