with no $$ issue at hand (but be a little realistic) what would your ring look like -- or describe it---- type of diamond (shape & size) as well as which type of band---

thiss could be interestinggg --- i need to think about this one a little too before I find a pic to add--

i don't think there is anything i'd change, i love my cushion cut diamond and my pave setting. i've had it since september and I still stare at it and it means even more to me because FH picked it out himself and hand picked the diamond

I sorta did design my own ring. I sent FH a picture 2 years ago of the exact band I liked. I had never been able to find it in person, but I came across it online. 1 year later, FH went and had it custom made for me b/c no one he went to had the exact band. I have a brilliant stone in a basket setting with a pave band in platinum.
The only thing I'm a little 'eh' about is the basket setting. I may wanna change it to a high setting in the future b/c I feel like the basket setting takes away from the diamond a bit.

I always thought I would like a simple solitaire princess cut but I must say, FH did a great job not listening to me! It's definitely more 'blingy' and I LOVE IT! It's different than anything I've ever seen... I have a quad diamond (4 little diamonds) in a princess cut shape and the band is a channel under the quad consisting of 10 round diamonds.

Sometimes I wish mine was bigger, but it is my grandmother's stone and that means the world to me... the setting is GORGEOUS though. My FH did a great job.

I am not up to date with the terminology...radiant...basket....eternity band? Someone help!

Anyway, I told FH I love round and 6 prong. I did not go to pick it out...total surprise and he picked a gorgeous setting...one have never seen before. It is 4 prong but really gorgeous!

I think I wouldnt change it but I do still love 6 prong rings alot but those settings are not common. As far as a bigger diamond....it would prob be ridic on my size 4 ring finger!!!!! This one is flasy enough!

radiant is the type of cut a diamond is-- like princess but no sharp corners and a little different-- eternity band is when the diamonds go all the way around the ring... basket is the type of setting--- hth

yes it is a radiant cut diamond with round side stones... still a little indecisive--- any suggestions?

Actually, this is exactly what I did! I worked with a fantastic jeweler who helped bring what the ideas I had in mind to reality, and got the exact ring I wanted! The diamond is from a ring of my Grandmother's. I don't want to spam pics, so there are more pics in my album if you want to see how it fits with my wedding ring (this type of ring is called a 'reverse cradle').
