I am not sure I would ever move. I actually love it here. If I had to choose I guess Florida b/c it is warm and still close enough to visit family here.

Re: If You Were Going To Move Out of NY....
I would LOVE to move out of NY now, but FH doesn't want to yet.
I REALLY REALLY love the Carolina's. I hate the winter and since I don't take the subway I have to walk in the snow and cold every winter to work. I also love Virginia.
If I stay North, Connecticut is where I would go. I love the country-ness of Connecticut. It has always been one of my favorite states.
I'd also like to move out of NY because you get so much more for your money.
I'm happy here for now though, we just bought our first house on Long Island, so we're very excited. My 'dream' house though, is out of NY somewhere

New Hope, PA... adorable litle town, beautiful scenery, right on the Deleware river, but not completely in the middle of nowhere (close to Philly, about 2/12 hours from NYC).
I love it there, and I LOVE snow!!

Re: If You Were Going To Move Out of NY....
I toss this question around often. I've visited every state on the east coast as well as Louisiana, W Virginia & Ohio and not one of them struck me as any place I'd move to...I've thought about GA since my sister lives there but the south isn't my cup of tea.
Then, FH took me to San Francisco last year...now THAT'S a place I could move to - in a heartbeat. I've never been to San Diego, but I like the weather there so I think I could move there too.
Other than that, I'd consider moving out of the country...but FH would never do something like that.

I'd also vote for a warm place, but not FL!!
I know it has it's cold seasons too, but I love the wooded areas of middle CT - Essex, Hamden, Moodus, etc.

I love San Fran, but it's just too far away from everyone... So my second choice would be the Boston area.

Re: If You Were Going To Move Out of NY....
Massachusetts...I went to school there though so I'm biased! You get so much for your money, and it's got so many great areas to live in, the south shore and all of southeastern MA is great. Close to Providence and Newport, and close to Boston. So many great cities nearby...and only 3 1/2 hours from LI.
