So FMIL finally got her dress. FH tells me about it and says that it is DARK purple. My bridesmaids are wearing a darker violet, which he and FMIL both knew, but since he said dark I figured 'OK, they should be far enough apart that it will be OK.' Well, this is the dress she's wearing in the exact color it will be. The second pic is my bridesmaids dresses in their exact color. Am I nuts for flipping out on him because they are way too close to each other?? Please be honest. Im not looking for people to take my side, I just want to know what other people will be thinking when they see this.
FH keeps telling me 'Its no big deal.'

Complimenting is fine but Brides mom should always have first choice ....And FMIL seem to sometimes not remember or know that....I know MY FMIL dress will clash and not compliment the pics...But oh well...she will look at the fam pic in her den forever...our will just be in the book...

IMO the dresses are nothing alike. Yes they are both in the purple family but not even close to the same shade -- they will be fine. As for your mom I think Navy will be fine. The two dark colors of the mother gowns will look nice together.
