Just to reassure you a little, I was married before and we went on vacation at the Jersey shore. I lost my ring while we where there. When I got back, I called the insurance co., they asked me if I had pics of the ring (I had one) and for the appraisal. The day I was supposed to go to their jeweler and have a new ring made up, my girlfriend called to say she had found it in one of her duffels. I called the insurance co. and they were actually thanking me for being honest and telling them it was found. They do replace the ring, and they do make it as close to or better than the one you had. You really shouldn't have any problem. Good luck!!!

You guys are so great and so wonderful. I just got off the phone with the insurance lady..man is she not a nice lady. . She couldnt even tell me anything..except that a representative will be in touch by the end of Tomorrows business day to 'advise'us. My fiance has the policy number, etc, but I dont think he has a copy of the actual policy..we looked everywhere..so i have no clue what it covers. It did say full coverage..so Ia m hoping it will cover this. I just want the ring back.the exact ring.
We should have filed a report in Toronto..dont know why we didnt.

I really hope everything works out...I was thinking about U last night..I even had a Nightmare that I lost mine...It was a horrible feeling...Keep us posted

Alvatore..you are so sweet for thinking of me. Im sorry if I caused your nightmare!
It will all work out somehow..if we have to just **** it up and buy another ring, then we'll work it out..we just dont have alot of cash these days with the wedding, but we will make it work. Thankyou so much for thinking of me!!

Thankyou!! I ma starting to have alittle hope though because everyone has had such positive things to say, eople have lost their rings or know someone who has lost their rings..so far it has all been success stories!! Yea!! Once I get another ring..I will NEVER ever take it off. My fiance says hes going to weld it to my finger.

I'm so sorry you lost your ring!

I just called my insurance co - Chubb (because this was making me nervous). I found out they will pay to replace the ring or give you the appraised value (or current market value if its more - up to 150% of the appraised value) if you'd like to get something different.

I explained your scenario and my policy covers any loss- lost, stolen, stone falls out whatever.

What good is insurance for if it doesn't cover things like this?

BEWARE ALL OF YOU.

There is NO such thing as 'all risk' or all covered in insurance. It's terrible that people still say that. There's a WHOLE section called exclusions and another called conditions.

If you're nervous, call your 'people' and put it to them plainly..'Look a friend just lost her ring with another insurance company while she was on vacation, being engaged and nervous can you please tell me would my policy cover a lost ring? I heard something from someone that only fire, theft and destruction are covered... is that true?'

Mysterious Disappearance is normally excluded!!!

Just trying to save heartache.
