Long story, but this girl kept asking me questions about my wedding. All the details.
She turns around and she bought the same exact Monique Lhuillier dress I wanted when I told her I wanted a lace dress from Monique because she is filipino and so am I, which makes it special.
Am I overreacting?

She was a work friend who no longer works here. She's getting married out of state which is good. we stayed in touch but have only been friends for less than a year....

hmmm... I can totally understand why you're upset.
But at the same time, a friend and I are now basically having the same wedding b/c we have so much in common and like the same things.
we could both be really upset about it... or we could do what we're doing and embrace it and take it as a compliment that someone else likes our ideas so much.
if you are uncomfortable with it, definitely don't tell her any more details.

that is absolutely ridiculous! Why would somebody intentionally copy another person's style like that....isn't your wedding supposed to be a reflection of yourself and your style?

Don't worry I think all brides go through this
I had a girl at my job copy my dress, veil, and colors. I was mad at first, then thought about it, and felt flattered. I have good ideas and she just didn't have an imagination to think of her own

What gets me is that when I tell her I wanted chair covers she would say 'oh they are so tacky.' but meanwhile, her tone is more envious than anything.

sometimes people can have the same taste.....i like a lot of the same things that other girls posted here on LIW.........i can see why you would be upset that she got the same dress as you but maybe she loves the dress just as much as you do.......with that said, i do agree with the other girls when they said not to tell her about your other wedding plans - if you feel that she is a copy cat then don't give her any information worth copying.....
