I'm so PO'd right now! I think you'd be too...

Original post by EJSD2006

One of my BM's got engaged last month and ever since then she's been calling me and asking what I'm doing for this or what I'm doing for that. So today she calls me and tells me she came up last weekend (she moved out of state a few months ago) and looked at a few catering halls already. I was like 'ok, cool'. So I asked her which ones and she said she looked at Fox Hollow and Chateau Briand. I said did you like either? She said Fox Hollow smelled funny and Chateau Briand was on a main road. I was like 'I'm at Jericho Terrace and that's on a main road. There's nothing wrong with that b/c you don't see the street anyway.' She goes 'Well, that's okay for you and your guests. I'm looking for something better.' I WAS READY TO JUMP THROUGH THE PHONE AND KICK HER A**!!!!! I am so mad at her right now!!! I'm seriously considering telling her not to come to my wedding since it's not good enough for her!!! Wouldn't you be PO'd too??????

I'd be po'd! It sounds like maybe she spoke without thinking. Talk to her and find out what she meant by the comment and let her know it bugged you. If she's still acting like she's better than you, I'd consider telling her not to come.

I can't believe she said that!!!! It's like she was thinking out loud. What did you say to her? I would have been like 'excuse me, who ever said your sh1t don't stink?' I would confront her about it.

I didn't know what to say to her!!! I was just so pissed that I told her I had to go back to work. I don't think she realized what she had said...at least I hope not. Cause that would make her a real biatch!!!! And I don't think I want that as a friend or a BM!

Hey, hall twin! I love JT, and I like the fact that it is on a main road. I have a lot of OOT guests, and this is going to make it easier for them to find the hall. Besides, there is a little garden area inside where you can take your pics and you don't even face the street. What your BM said was really insensitive. Is she looking for an outdoor ceremony? Maybe that is why she's concerned about halls that are on a main road. But still, what she said was rude and completely out of line.

Totally agree!

Yes, I would be fuming right now and it's not because I am also getting married at Jericho Terrace but what kind of friend says something like that??

Her comment was VERY wrong for saying and yes, I would be very affended.

i would be very offended as well. this girl sounds like an annoying pretentious biatch. i would probably cross her off my invite list after i confronted her. she probably thinks of the wedding as 'her time to shine' cuz she's got nothing better going on. i wouldn't even spend any more time being PO'd; its just not worth it for someone like that.

That would make me upset too. . . .

BUT!!! if she's a good enough friend, I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and say she stuck her foot in her mouth. If she did it again, though, I'd confront her on it. Then I'd bring up what she said to you about the main road thing. totally thoughtless!!

fool me once, shame on you,
fool me twice, shame on me.

BTW, I was at two weddings at JT- Its gorgeous!! so she should STFU!

I would be mad too! I'm getting married in JT and the location is great :o) She just sounds really insensitive. If you bring it up she would probably be shocked that her comment really bothered you...........

Jericho Terrace is beautiful and that was an incredibly rude thing for her to say. I would be very angry also.

Anyway-do you really think your guests care that it is on a main road? It will be easier to find that way!!!!!!!!

open mouth and insert foot!!!!!!!

NOt for nothing... but unless you want to spend 250 a head arent most of the catering halls on a main road.... and look at the expensive ones... crescent beach is on a main road.... do we want our guests trecking though the backroads??!!

what a dumba$$... what did you say back to her???

edit- when she does find a place find something about and give her a similar comment.. well 'herplace' is ok, but i wanted _____ cause its better... i think you get the point!

Thats quite rude of her to say, but is diarrhea of the mouth a normal occurence for her? If so I would just ignore her comments otherwise tell her to keep her mouth shut

I would have been PO'd as well!!!

We actually ruled out one hall because we couldn't find it!!! We said if we can't find it, how will our guests find it!!! (This is one of the main reasons we booked JT! Easy to get to and find!!)

If this kind of attitude is normal for her, then I would cut her loose now out of the BP. No need to look back on your photos wishing she wasn't in them.

If this is not normal for her, then confront her and tell her while you know she is excited for her wedding, you do not appreciate her bashing your hall, and if she is going to be negative, then you will not give her anymore advice. (At least I know I wouldn't!! There's too many stories of stolen ideas on here!)

Women can be such witches!!!! Chalk it up to jealousy and ignore her remarks.

Most of all enjoy your day

I usually find with people like this, I get the last laugh. SHe will book a place that you would consider seedy and you will be hysterical about it for years.

A friend of mine who said he'd end up living in the biggest house of our whole group of friends--his house is the smallest by far!!!

I HAD a friend that thought everything was tacky and then when planning her own wedding, picked some tacky stuff herself!

To each his/her own, but some people think they are the authority on everything.

Let her think she is better than you....You know the truth.

o-m-g I'm so sorry

she doesn't sould like she's being a good friend, maybe you should talk to her and confront her. If she & you were close where she is onne of you bm's then do you really want to lose here friendship...

Maybe she's jelous b/c you got engaged first, your prettier, you have the better job. Who knows... as sick as it is she may have said it to makle herself feel better
