Hi! Any recommendations on a photographer comparable to Imagine, but perhaps a little less money? Thx

Re: Imagine
Try Mark Kauffman Studios. His studio is wonderful and you get 2 photographers. You pick the photographers so you have control over what style you are looking for. If you want, do a search for me and SonicStef and you can see our photos.

Hi Michele. I tried search, but it didn't work. Can you FM your pics (if you don't mind), or show me the link. Thanks a lot!!

Re: Imagine
I have met with Mark Kauffman and Imagine, while I think both photographers do beautiful work, I definitely would not say Mark Kauffman is less expensive. If anything, he is more expensive.

Re: Imagine
I agree, Mark Kauffman is more expensive, although on the lower end of things it may be cheaper (if you're not getting albums and just getting photography). See if Imagine can be negotiated to break up their package deals into shooting + negatives, and then perhaps have them developed on your own, or see if you can take out the bridal album or substitute a cheaper one.

Mark Kauffman is without a doubt more expensive.

Re: Imagine
minnie, how much are you looking to pay and for what services (i.e. how many proofs/albums, etc)

Re: Imagine
Mark sends out a video of his pictures and a package guide. Call and ask for one, that will clear things up a bit.

Re: Imagine
I don't think we really wanted to go over $3000. Have no clue how many pics I want; don't know what the standard is, etc... I do want 'regular' pics as well as black and whites. That's about as much as I'm certain of.

Re: Imagine
Ok, if I am not mistaken, the cheapest package with imagine has only bridal album included, and no engagement session. This will end up setting you back a bit under $3000, right. Unless their pricing changed. If you want parent albums, you can either a)order reprints through imagine, and purchase your own albums b)get the negatives and then make your own reprints and buy your own albums. If you don't want parent albums, then you can just get the first package and you'll be in budget. Some people do folios for their parents, with 2 8x10 enlargements, you can purchase your own folios and get the enlargements through imagine.
There is no 'standard package' in photography, so you need to determine what you need (must have) and what extras would you want, and then go 'price shopping'

Re: Imagine
Ive said this before but I dont think Imagine and Mark Kauffman are that that similiar in terms of style. Each studio has their own niche of a certain set of styles and its a matter of personal taste of who is better than who.
Imagine is defintely cheaper for a full package BUT you get fewer photos and at least 1 less photographer. Im very biased (being a big MK studio fan) but I think you get more 'value' from Mark. Also, Marks packages are a lot more flexible than Imagines from what I saw. With Imagine you get what you get for certain price points. With Mark you can negotiate every piece of the pacakge and create something that works for you and your budget.
Both studios get rave reviews on this board so its really going to be a issue of who's work you like better and what you need in return.
PS: Alina is right. There is no 'standard package' in photography anymore. Decide what is important to you and what you can afford - and then go shopping.
