thinking of a floral monogram. I'm trying to find a florist that will construct a 7 or 8 ft tall floral monogram. I have it all planned out in my mind and some elementary sketches.. I figured instead of us doing an arch for our outdoor ceremony, we'd have a huge floral monogram, with our letters wrapped in satin or some other very shimmery fabric. I get excited every time I think about it. Maybe I'll DIY.. I just need someone to do the construction to make sure it doesn't fall.
My question is should I try to find a carpenter to make the structure and then have the florist decorate it or is this something that a florist would handle?
Thanks ladies for your input.

theres a lady in stony brook or setauket - my cousin used her- she works out of her house and she will do some pretty different and wild things she's very open minded maybe you should give her a call - I believe it was Sugar Magolias. I don't know if that's too far from you - but I think she has a website it may not hurt to just call and ask to get some info.

Re: Instead of an arch for our outdoor ceremony, I'm
so im guessing there would be stands or pillars and the monograms will be on top of this? I would talk to the florist first, just to find out how much the flowers would cost if you decide to do this, if you dont care about how much it cost then maybe talk to a carpenter to see if they would do this first...BUt if you do care about the cost, then wait until you book your florist, i know usually the arches with flowers can range from $1500-2000, but to have huge monogram the flowers would have to be tightly bunched together so you would need flowers and it would be more than what a regular arch would cost.
Are you good with carpentry? otherwise i wouldnt tackle this on as a DIY project

No I'm not good with carpentry but my step father is. I just talked to him about it and it said that it would be easy. He also suggested that I pad the letters with foam so when wrapped with the satin, it looks smooth and can be pulled tightly, so that it looks very clean and neat. Yea! But I would have to use a florist so she/he can attach whatevers needed to secure the tightly bunched flowers. I'm thinking they would use that florist foam.. the green one they use for arrangements.
