I just emailed an invitation vendor because I liked style. This is the price they gave me: $600 for 100 invitations plus an additional $455 for response cards. This will include basic envelopes with return address printing. These prices are negotiable depending on the type of card stock we use and the number of colors in the design. I haven't looked into invitations yet. Is this average or very pricey. Keep in mind, the invitations are 'letterpressed' I have heard that is pricier. So the real question is, is this expensive for letterpressed invitations?

Yeah, I don't think that actually is a ridiculous price for letterpress. Maybe a little high if it doesn't include any inserts other than the response card/ response card envelope. But not absurd.
ITA - that's a decent price for letterpress. They're always more expensive.
If that's what you want though, I don't think that's an absurd price.

I know there are all kinds of options with prices, but for letterpress invitations is this expensive?
It is quite expensive, but to be honest, we looked at letterpress for our invitations (and still might end up going with it if we can afford it) and the numbers you were quoted are not that far off at all. Letterpress invitations seem to be the most expensive type of printing I've come across. Thermography and Digital printing are much cheaper if youre looking to cut the cost

I can't say this enough. If you find invites you really like, SHOP AROUND.
They have the same books at every place, use the same vendors and have a specific price they HAVE to charge to cover their cost but they pad that price...
Go to J&D Invitations in Merrick (They are a LIW Vendor) there you will find the BEST PRICE.
I got my invites for $360 less then other vendors and they are the exact same ones and came out perfect! Plus they are so sweet in there.

Re: Invitations Price Quote...is this insane?
i know everyone is saying how expensive it is. but i looked into letterpress invitations and I reallly wanted them.
That's actually not an awful price. If i wanted letterpress, the invitations would have been $1500-2000 for 150. At least that's what I found at maybe 10 sources online.

that is not a lot for letterpress at all ... letterpress is beautiful but at the end of the day it ends up in the garbage!

It's not a lot FOR LETTERPRESS. Letterpress is REALLY expensive. What is it you like about letterpress? If you must have the depressed pritning there's not much you can do, but of you like bold, graphical designs, you can do that w/o letterpress and save a bundle. I'm using 'she who must not be names' and paying less for invitations with ALL addressing, 4 inserts, ribbon and a rhinestone slide.

I paid 1200 for 200 BUT I got everything even assembling, printed envelopes, etc. So I would go with yea that's a lot! RSVP's should come with the Invite

Re: Invitations Price Quote...is this insane?
ok, i would NEVER spend that much on invitations, but if you have the money and can afford it, go for it. I got beautiful invitations and spent under $300 for 125 invites and everything that went with it and i just bought 1200 swarovski crystals to apply to the invites for $60
