So...the topic of the day is Randy making fun of people who live in Mastic/Shirley area. He called them all white trash. Granted, I grew up in Mastic Beach. I went to William Floyd, and even I would NEVER move back to mastic beach/shirley area. I know my granfather still lives in Mastic and has a beautiful home on a nice block. My in-laws live in Shirley and have the best block in the world with great neighbors. Like every town, there is the good and the bad, look at Brentwood, Belport, etc.
Its just funny that he was joking and it has spun into this huge controvery. Is anyone else listening? I stream WBLI live from the internet in my office.

This is why I listen to my IPOD on the way to work. I can't stand Randy or Roger and JP on WBAB either. Today they were making a list of women to stay away from. I don't know how JP's wife can stand him!

The lady he supposed to have offended called up and said the paper is making alot worse than it is and that she feels bad for Randy. SHe said she took it as a joke and was not mad!

Like I said in my original post, I was born and raised in Mastic Beach. The town used to be sooo nice and quaint. I agree with him, it has gone down tremendously due to the section 8 housing and the dumping of sex offenders, etc. THe town is certainly not what it used to be. There are nice parts still and there are bad parts, but that is any town (belport, brentwood, etc.).
I think people just like drama. That's all...anything to make a big deal.

oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm an @ss. But wait....i've never heard it....does it only broadcast on long island.....cause in the city there's that reggaeton station on 105.9 and then nothing after that I think till 106.7 which is like, lite fm or something....

haha that was like the curtis sliwa of curtis & cuby situation last week. a bunch of mobsters were arrested from staten island he said he wasnt suprised because you could swing a dead cat in staten island and every 3rd person you would hit would be connected to the mob. i found it hilarious and so did my italian coworkers but the borough president had curtis come to SI to apologize, get soap put in his mouth and get spanked by an old lady....literally. some people cant take jokes.
